He even called on President \u200cJoe Biden to \u2062wipe\u2064 out $1.75 trillion in existing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/5-reasons-making-taxpayers-pay-off-student-loans-is-a-rotten-idea\/\" title=\"5 Reasons Making Taxpayers Pay Off Student Loans Is A Rotten Idea\">student loans<\/a>, emphasizing that college education &#8220;should be free.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, some conflict of interest\u200c concerns have been raised regarding Bowman&#8217;s advocacy. It turns out that he himself carries a hefty student loan tab, amounting to $250,000 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-has-signed-40-executive-orders-and-actions-since-taking-office\/\" title=\"Biden has signed 40 executive orders and actions since taking office\">federal student loans<\/a>. This includes $220,000 \u200cfor his \u200cown degrees and an additional $30,000 in loans for his children.<\/p>\n<p>Bowman\u200b obtained his undergraduate, master&#8217;s, and doctoral degrees\u2064 from the University of New Haven, Mercy College,\u2064 and Manhattanville College, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Despite his own debt,\u200b Bowman has used his personal experience to \u2062argue in \u2063favor of cancellation, highlighting that he is &#8220;one \u200cof the very few Black PhD holders in America&#8221; \u200dand had to take out thousands in student loans to\u200b achieve his educational goals.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that Bowman&#8217;s call for \u2063wholesale cancellation of\u2064 student loans goes beyond Biden&#8217;s proposal,\u200d which was struck down by the Supreme\u2062 Court in June. Biden&#8217;s plan aimed to cancel\u2063 up to $20,000 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-sweeps-in-texas-election-as-city-revolts-against-biden-backed-critical-race-theory-in-schools\/\" title=\"GOP Sweeps In Texas Election As City Revolts Against Biden-Backed Critical Race Theory In Schools\">federal loans<\/a> \u200dfor individuals making less\u200d than $125,000 a year.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u200dthis plan would likely\u2064 not \u200chave provided relief\u200c to Bowman, considering his\u200d annual salary of $174,000 as a member of Congress and his wife&#8217;s income \u2064of $94,000 from her job in the New York City Department of Education.<\/p>\n<p>Bowman is not\u2064 alone in his support for\u2063 complete cancellation.
