Amid Dispute\u2064 with Tuohys<\/h2>\n<p>Auburn football head \u200bcoach Hugh Freeze\u2064 has\u2064 weighed in\u200c on the ongoing media feud between Michael Oher and the Tuohy family.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This past week, the\u200c former NFL offensive \u2064lineman accused the family that took him into their home while he was\u2063 a homeless teen of\u200b taking advantage of him, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/38190720\/blind-side-subject-michael-oher-alleges-adoption-was-lie-family-took-all-film-proceeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPN<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2063 filed a petition\u2062 in a Tennessee court to \u200drequest an end to a conservatorship over him\u200c from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/attorney-says-michael-oher-recently-attempted-15-million-shakedown-blind-side-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sean and\u2062 Leigh Anne Tuohy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The story of the family and its acceptance of Oher into\u2064 their home inspired the 2009 Oscar-winning film \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/former-nfl-player-immortalized-blind-side-drops-bombshell-lie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Blind Side<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oher charged\u2062 the inspirational story was not what it \u2063seemed.<\/p>\n<p>He \u200cclaimed he was under the \u200cimpression he was \u201cadopted\u201d and was shocked to recently learn\u2064 he was still\u200b under\u2063 a \u200bconservatorship \u2013 and was never \u200bconsidered the Tuohy\u2019s legal child.<\/p>\n<p>However, in his 2011 memoir, he admitted he knew he was under the conservatorship,\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/michael-oher-calls-tuohys-his-conservators-2011-memoir-7644755\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">People<\/a> \u200d magazine reported.<\/p>\n<p>The 37-year-old never lodged any complaints against the wealthy family at the time.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Freeze, who will climb \u200bhis way back into SEC football \u200bcoaching the Tigers this season after he <a href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/2722890-hugh-freeze-reportedly-in-jeopardy-of-being-fired-by-ole-miss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exited<\/a> Ole Miss in 2016 amid scandal and before\u200c a \u2063three-year \u200cstint coaching at \u2063Liberty University, knows the family and its relationship with Oher \u200dperhaps better than anyone.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Before Freeze was hired as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/country-celebrates-natl-law-enforcement-appreciation-day\/\" title=\"Country celebrates Nat\u2019l Law Enforcement Appreciation Day\">head coach<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-radioactive-material-detected-water-near-mississippi-river-nuclear-power-plant-leak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mississippi<\/a> in 2012, he was one of the team\u2019s assistants\u200c from 2006 to\u2062 2007 \u2013 when Oher\u2063 played \u200cfor the \u200bRebels.<\/p>\n<p>But prior to that, Freeze was\u200c the head coach of\u2064 Briarcrest \u200cChristian\u2063 School\u200c in Shelby County,\u2064 Tennessee \u200cfrom 1995 until 2004.<\/p>\n<p>That happens to be the same academy Oher attended with the help of the Tuohy family.\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ole-miss-football-just-vacate-2-seasons-worth-wins-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Freeze<\/a> coached\u2062 Oher\u200c both in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scotus-expected-to-follow-up-race-based-admissions-decision-with-new-case-on-huge-issue-at-high-schools\/\" title=\"SCOTUS to tackle major high school issue after race-based admissions ruling.\">high\u200b school<\/a> and at Ole Miss.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The coach weighed in on the feud between \u200bthe \u200ctwo parties on Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wvtm13.com\/article\/michael-oher-blind-side-hugh-freeze-auburn-tuohy\/44844747#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WVTM-TV<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Freeze \u200dsaid that in spite of Oher\u2019s accusations against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/blind-side-family-responds-allegations-former-nfl-star-michael-oher-upsetting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the\u2063 family<\/a>, the Tuohys would be there for him right now \u2062if he needed them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know this: If Michael called \u2062Sean (Tuohy) right now and said let\u2019s work\u2064 this thing \u200dout, Sean and Leigh Anne would \u200dbe there in\u200b a hurry to\u2062 hug his neck and tell him he\u2019s loved,\u201d\u200d Freeze opined.<\/p>\n<p>The coach added, \u201cI \u200dhope\u2063 he \u2062feels \u2063that. Until\u200b you walk \u200cin people\u2019s \u200dshoes, I don\u2019t claim to have all the answers to anything, but\u200c I think whatever happens will happen. The facts will come out. But I love both sides \u200bof it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While \u200dFreeze did\u2063 acknowledge there\u2064 are\u2062 two sides to every story, \u200bhe did explain his perspective of the situation is one most people can\u2019t have.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2063 think\u2063 it\u2019s sad,\u201d Freeze said of the situation. \u201cI certainly don\u2019t claim to understand all the ins and outs of adoption, conservatory, all \u200cof that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cI know\u2063 what I witnessed. I witnessed \u200da family that totally took in a young man, and I think without \u2064that, there is no story.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Freeze\u2019s\u200b comments call \u2063into question Oher\u2019s claims that he was\u200b taken\u2064 advantage of and dispute claims of critics that the couple was out to cash in on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/i-know-what-i-witnessed-michael-ohers-high-school-coach-says-the-facts-will-come-out-amid-dispute-with-tuohys\/\" title=\"Coach of Michael Oher speaks out: 'The truth will be revealed' in dispute with Tuohys.\">long-shot teen<\/a> \u200din hopes he would somehow blossom into an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nfl-coach-hospitalized-friendly-fire-incident-practice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NFL<\/a> talent.<\/p>\n<p>The Tuohys are reportedly ready to end the conservatorship\u2062 at \u2062any time.<\/p>\n<p>But the family has not been shy about defending \u200ctheir relationship with\u2064 Oher.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re devastated,\u201d Sean Tuohy told\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/dailymemphian.com\/section\/sports\/article\/37925\/sean-tuohy-responds-allegations-michael-oher-blind-side-money\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Memphian<\/a> earlier this week of Oher\u2019s allegations. \u201cIt\u2019s upsetting to think we would make money off any of our children.
