According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bangordailynews.com\/2023\/08\/17\/politics\/maine-board-environmental-protection-hearing-gas-powered-electric-vehicles\/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CDon't%20turn%20Maine%20into%20California%2C%E2%80%9D%20said%20John,extract%20raw%20materials%20for%20batteries.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bangor Daily \u2062News (BDN)<\/a>,\u00a0 Maine\u2019s state\u200d government instead incentivizes electric vehicles. According to BDN, Maine\u2062 is still \u200b96% away from achieving that goal.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals like State Representative Joshua Morris (R) questioned the practicality of this plan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow often in Maine do people \u200close power?\u201d \u2063Morris posited. \u201cEspecially in the winter, if they lose power, they\u2019re not going to be able to charge their vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are\u2062 not enough adjectives to describe how \u2062bad this policy is \u200bfor the people of Maine. It\u2019s callous, \u2064aloof, unthinking,\u200b unfeeling, unworkable, and\u200d simply cruel.
