However,\u2063 this move was not without controversy. Special \u2063Counsel David Weiss, \u2062newly appointed to the \u200ccase,\u200b requested the dismissal \u2064of these charges in order \u2063to \u2062potentially file \u2062new charges\u200d against President \u200bJoe Biden&#8217;s son\u2063 in either California or Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>In late July, Hunter&#8217;s plea\u200c deal,\u2063 which <a title=\"Hunter Biden's tax charges were dropped on Thursday evening.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/heres-why-hunter-bidens-tax-charges-were-dismissed-thursday-evening\/\">involved alleged tax crimes<\/a> and other illegal behavior, completely fell\u200b apart. Judge Noreika raised concerns about the extent of immunity granted to Hunter under the deal. The proposed agreement would\u200c have required \u200bHunter to plead guilty to \u200cthe\u2064 now-dismissed tax misdemeanors and admit to \u200ca gun charge. If approved, this deal \u200bwould have likely spared the president&#8217;s son from \u2062jail time\u200b and, according to Hunter&#8217;s team,\u200c shielded him from future legal\u2063 action, essentially functioning as a de facto pardon.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Noreika put the plea deal on hold,\u2064 leading \u2062Hunter to plead not guilty.
