The 2024 \u2064GOP Iowa \u200dCaucus is scheduled for Jan. 15, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Blanche argues that the\u2062 Department of Justice is attempting \u2063to fast track\u2062 this case to trial, eliminating Trump\u2019s ability to adequately defend himself. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe government\u2019s objective is clear: to deny President Trump \u200dand \u200bhis\u2063 counsel a fair ability to prepare for trial,\u201d\u200d Blanche said in the court filing.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Blanche points to the enormous amount\u2062 of discovery expected to be handed over \u2064from the DOJ in the\u200c case \u2013 11.5 million pages.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cTo put 11.5 million pages in some perspective, we began downloading the \u2062government\u2019s initial production on August 13, 2023,\u201d\u2063 Blanche said. \u201cTwo \u2063days later, it was still downloading.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cStated differently, if we were to print and stack 11.5 \u200cmillion pages of documents, with\u2062 no gap between pages, at 200 pages per \u200cinch, the result \u2062would be \u2063a tower of paper stretching nearly 5,000 feet into the sky,\u201d Blanche continued. \u201cThat is\u200b taller than the \u2063Washington Monument, stacked on top of\u2064 itself eight times, with nearly a million pages to spare.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Trump\u2019s attorneys argue that, \u200ceven on their proposed schedule, they \u2064would have to \u2064review at least\u2063 12,000\u200d pages of discovery material per day to\u2062 stay on pace for\u2063 the trial date.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis is an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pres-trumps-legal-team-proposes-april-2026-trial-for-january-6th-case\/\" title=\"Trump's lawyers suggest a trial date in April 2026 for the January 6th case.\">exceedingly rapid pace<\/a>, by any measure, and\u2064 one that will only be manageable with intense diligence,\u201d Blanche explained. \u201cThe government\u2019s proposal, by\u2064 contrast, is flatly impossible. No\u2064 defendant can reasonably review nearly 100,000 pages of discovery per day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Judge \u2064Tanya Chutkan has\u2063 scheduled\u200c a hearing on\u200d Monday, August 28th to \u2062settle \u2063on a trial date for the case.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
