The decision, made by U.S. District\u2062 Judge Allen \u2064Winsor, rejected an injunction requested by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on behalf of the plaintiffs.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt does not facially discriminate against noncitizens based \u2062on race or\u200b ancestry. It does not discriminate against noncitizens \u200cbased on \u2018the \u200bparticular country in \u2064which one was born,\u2019\u201d Winsor wrote, quoting a Supreme Court precedent. \u201cSo contrary to plaintiffs\u2019 arguments, the challenged law is facially neutral as to race and\u200b national origin.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The law,\u200b known as SB 264, was passed earlier this year by Florida\u2062 Governor Ron DeSantis and the Republican-controlled\u2064 state legislature. It went into effect on July 1 and imposes severe restrictions on foreign \u200dentities or affiliates from \u200bbuying farmland in Florida or land within 10 miles of military bases and critical infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation was crafted to address the growing concern of the Chinese government&#8217;s influence on national \u200cand state security. While Chinese nationals face strict penalties under the law, it also imposes \u200bless restrictive rules on immigrants from Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, Russia, \u2063and Syria.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the law was signed, the\u200b ACLU filed a lawsuit on behalf of four Chinese nationals living in Florida and the law firm Quinn Emanuel, arguing that it is unconstitutional and \u2064violates equal protection rights and the\u2064 Fair \u2062Housing Act.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Despite the judge&#8217;s decision, the ACLU plans to appeal, stating that\u200c the law legitimizes and expands housing discrimination.
