min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>In its Journal of Ethics \u200dissue, \u200ctitled \u201cPatient-Centered Transgender\u2064 Surgical Care,\u201d suggestions were offered in order to reduce\u200c the cost of the surgery.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cEven though there has been no uterus transplant\u200c to date in transwomen that\u2064 we know of, some clinicians have maintained\u2062 that there are no absolute barriers in anatomy, hormones,\u200d and obstetric considerations that would rule out the possibility of \u200bsuccessful\u2064 UTx in transwomen,\u201d\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/journalofethics.ama-assn.org\/article\/should-uterus-transplantation-transwomen-and-transmen-be-subsidized\/2023-06#:~:text=Transwomen%20who%20want%20to%20gestate%20children.,of%20successful%20UTx%20in%20transwomen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the association claimed<\/a> in June of \u200bthis \u200byear.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, the AMA \u2062has been consistently chastised for proposing the idea and has\u2064 also been accused of taking an \u201cactivist stance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They argued that transgender women\u2019s\u2063 inability to bear children\u2062 may cause \u201cpsychological dissonance,\u201d undermining their health and well-being.<\/p>\n<p>The report comes as some pioneering uterus\u200d transplant doctors sincerely believe they are on the\u2064 verge of helping transgender women give birth to their own children, despite\u200d the fact that the majority of\u2064 those familiar with biology and other online users have scoffed at the idea.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" data-placeholder-image=\"https:\/\/c3.oann.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/complianz-gdpr\/assets\/images\/placeholders\/twitter-minimal.jpg\" class=\"cmplz-placeholder-element twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Your American\u2062 Medical Association wants to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/american-medical-association-suggests-taxpayers-fund-300k-uterus-transplants-for-trans-women\/\" title=\"AMA proposes taxpayer-funded 0K uterus transplants for trans women.\">give taxpayer-funded uterus transplants<\/a> to men\u200c who want\u200c to become women.<\/p>\n<p>The procedure will\u200d cost $100,000 to $300,000.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from how\u200c outrageous it would be to have taxpayers pay for this, \u200bthey \u200bwill still NEVER be a woman like I \u2063am.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ada Lluch \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\uddf8 (@ada_lluch)\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ada_lluch\/status\/1691795607864623288?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August\u2064 16, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The left-leaning Euro News also similarly suggested\u200c that transgender women would be able to give birth in \u200bthe future. \u200d <\/p>\n<p>However,\u200b the example that the outlet gave referenced \u2062a\u2062 surgery done on \u2064a biological woman suffering from uterine factor infertility, not a transgender woman.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cSo far, births from uterus transplants have \u2064been\u200d in women assigned female at birth. But rapid \u200badvancements in the field have ignited hope among some transgender women about\u200c the possibility of pregnancy,\u201d the outlet\u200b said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the AMA, trans \u200cwomen who want to give birth can\u2062 \u201cplausibly justify\u201d a uterus transplant subsidy up \u2062to $300,000.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cTranswomen lack a trait [the ability to bear children] that may \u2062cause them to experience psychological dissonance in a way that undermines their health and well-being,\u201d Timothy F. \u2063Murphy and\u00a0Kelsey Mumford wrote in \u2062the Journal of Ethics. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe \u2063lack of a uterus also \u200ccloses off the prospect of gestating a\u2064 child in \u2062a way that is available to women as a\u2064 class. It follows that lack of a uterus is an obstacle to full participation in the social goods \u200cattached to women\u2019s identity,\u201d\u2063 he continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dr. \u200bMarty Makary, a surgeon, professor, and medical commentator at Johns Hopkins who specializes in surgical oncology and gastrointestinal laparoscopic\u200d surgery, expressed disappointment that the association was wasting its resources and not addressing real transgender issues, such as the rising number of health complications\u200b reported by those who have undergone sex reassignment surgery and hormone \u2064therapy.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIt is odd that the AMA\u200b is choosing to really focus on this activist position rather than fund the important research we need in transgender medicine,\u201d he told Fox News. \u201cWhat\u2019s the regret rate\u200b after transition surgery?\u2063 What\u2019s \u200bthe long-term complication \u2062rate of hormones?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s very hard to do research in this field\u2026 because the activists have \u2063run a lot of people out of town, that reasonable doctors and objective scientists\u200b have been run out \u200dof \u200btown,\u201d\u2063 Makary\u2064 continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier this year, a team of doctors from the University of\u2063 Alabama at Birmingham\u2062 (UAB) became one of the first in\u200b the country\u200d to offer the medical procedure to hysterectomy patients\u2063 and women born without\u200d wombs.
