Version: 4.0.47--><h2>House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan Subpoenas \u2063DOJ and FBI in Big Tech \u2064Collusion\u2062 Investigation<\/h2>\n<p>House \u2063Judiciary \u200cCommittee\u200d Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/jim-jordan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jim Jordan<\/a> (R-OH) \u200bannounced on Thursday subpoenas against the leaders of the \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/department-of-justice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Department of Justice (DOJ)<\/a> and\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/fbi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI<\/a> \u200b as part of his investigation\u200d into alleged government collusion with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/big-tech\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Tech<\/a> \u2063 companies.<\/p>\n<p>Cover letters sent to <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2023-08-17-jdj-to-doj-re-subpoena-cover-letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Attorney General Merrick Garland<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/judiciary.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/republicans-judiciary.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/2023-08-17-jdj-to-fbi-re-subpoena-cover-letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FBI Director Christopher Wray<\/a> \u2063 faulted their\u2064 agencies with \u201cwoefully inadequate\u201d responses\u200c to past requests for communications with \u200dprivate companies and other third-party groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNumerous documents that have \u2063been\u200c made \u2064publicly available reflect the\u200c weaponization of the federal government\u2019s power to censor speech online directly and by proxy,\u201d Jordan\u200b said in each letter attached to a post to X on the \u201cCensorship Investigation Over Big Tech Collusion.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BREAKING?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BREAKING<\/a>: Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Jim_Jordan?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@Jim_Jordan<\/a> subpoenas\u200b FBI and\u2062 DOJ in Censorship Investigation Over Big Tech Collusion<\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udccdRead\u200c the subpoena cover\u200b letter to Garland here: \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/5UmJs8Ob7H\">https:\/\/t.co\/5UmJs8Ob7H<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\ud83d\udccdRead the subpoena cover letter to Wray here:<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/26XLuemk9v\">https:\/\/t.co\/26XLuemk9v<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0rs1qmBhhc\">pic.twitter.com\/0rs1qmBhhc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 House Judiciary GOP \ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 (@JudiciaryGOP) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JudiciaryGOP\/status\/1692242463497339387?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 17,\u200d 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The chairman stressed that \u2064it is \u201cnecessary for Congress\u2064 to gauge the extent \u200dto which\u201d\u200b DOJ and FBI \u200cofficials\u2062 \u201chave \u200dcoerced, pressured, worked with, or relied upon social media \u200dand other tech companies to censor speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe scope\u200b of the Committee\u2019s investigation includes understanding the extent \u2062and nature of\u201d the DOJ\u2019s\u2063 and FBI\u2019s \u201cinvolvement in this censorship,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Though\u2063 the subpoenas \u200dthemselves were not disclosed in the release, Jordan\u2019s \u200cletters\u2063 said he demanded\u200c the committee\u2019s \u201chighest \u200bpriority\u200c documents and information\u201d while citing \u2063rules in Congress governing\u200d oversight\u200b that relates to protecting\u2063 civil \u200bliberties.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan\u2019s letters make reference to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-administration-scores-victory-against-order-blocking-contact-with-social-media-companies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ongoing <em>Missouri \u200cv. Biden<\/em><\/a>  case brought by\u200c GOP state attorneys general over\u2063 alleged collusion between the \u2062federal\u2063 government \u200cand social media companies to censor speech \u2063in violation of\u2064 the First Amendment.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\">CLICK\u200b HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He said the DOJ and \u2063FBI\u2063 have\u200c only so far produced a single document in response to his requests from \u2062April seeking\u200b voluntary cooperation for information on content moderation discussions: a publicly available \u2064transcript of\u200b a civil deposition\u200d of FBI\u2062 Assistant Special Agent in Charge Elvis Chan from <em>Missouri v.
