Colton \u200dMoore (@realColtonMoore) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realColtonMoore\/status\/1692175623391957219?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August \u206417, \u200c2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Moore (R-Ga.) told One America News that \u200che felt\u2062 the need to write\u2064 the memo, because Georgia state leaders were \u201casleep at the wheel.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWe have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/radical-cultural-change-coming-to-america\/\" title=\"Radical Cultural Change Coming to America?\">district attorney<\/a> here in Georgia \u200bwho\u2019s using Gestapo \u2063tactics,\u201d Moore said. \u201cShe\u2019s using my tax \u200cdollars, my \u200dconstituents\u2019 tax dollars, to politically persecute her \u200denemies with charges\u200d so great that they could potentially be \u200dlethally injected in our state execution style.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Moore\u2019s memo\u200b comes \u2063days after a Fulton County grand jury\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/newsroom\/the-time-for-words-is-over-trump-spox-liz-harrington-calls-on-house-gop-to-defund-special-counsel-jack-smith\/\">indicted<\/a> 45<sup>th<\/sup> President\u200d Donald \u2062Trump and 18 others in relation to alleged attempts to overturn \u200bthe 2020\u2062 election\u200c results. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWe have a\u2062 job\u2063 to \u2062do,\u201d Moore said, explaining the reasoning behind \u200bthe memo. \u201cI\u2019m a state \u200dsenator. The people duly\u200c elected me to go and fight for their tax dollars. And the Georgia legislature has the authority to do something, and that\u2019s why I\u2019m taking action.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Moore says an emergency session can be called in one of two ways in\u2063 the Peach State. Kemp, as governor, has the power to call \u2063an emergency\u200d session. The second\u200c way involves more than \u2157 of both the state House and Senate signing onto \u2063a letter to demand\u200b review of Willis\u2019s conduct.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe process has been\u2062 started, and the train is rolling out,\u201d Moore said. \u201cI hope\u2064 these other senators will get on board. Over in the House of Representatives the margins are a little\u2064 bit tighter, but it would take a couple Democrats to sign on too.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Moore says \u200dif\u2063 he \u200dcan get \u2157 members \u2062of \u200dboth the\u200d state House and\u200b Senate to\u200b sign onto an emergency\u200c session, his top\u2063 priority would be \u2063to wield\u2063 the power of the purse.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cMy first\u200c priority will \u2063be \u2063to\u2063 eliminate the check,\u201d Moore told OAN. \u201cNo more state tax dollars going to her office. Then maybe that will change her tune and get her back on track for what\u2064 her \u2062role and responsibility is constitutionally.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Republicans control the majority in \u2064the \u200cstate Senate with 33 of \u200b56\u200c seats. They also control the majority \u200dof the state House of Representatives with 98 of \u200dthe 180 seats.
