He and 18 associates have been\u2064 charged under \u2062the state\u2019s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, which is\u2063 typically used against \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/secy-pompeo-calls-for-release-of-chinese-citizen-journalist\/\" title=\"Secy. Pompeo calls for release of Chinese citizen journalist\">organized crime<\/a> and mob organizations.<\/p>\n<p>These are \u2064the same anti-organized crime laws that former <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/08\/15\/rudy-giuliani-indicted-under-racketeering-laws-he-famously-used-to-take-down-mob-bosses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani<\/a> used to\u2062 put away <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/letts-chicago-mayors-lame-word-games-cant-cover-up-a-big-crime-problem\/\" title=\"Chicago Mayor's weak rhetoric fails to hide a significant crime issue.\">mafia bosses<\/a> in the 1980s.<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani \u2014\u2063 who revolutionized the use\u200b of this little-known federal law to bring down American mafia\u2062 activities in New York \u2062City and obtain \u2064convictions for mobsters like \u201cFat Tony\u201d Salerno, Carmine \u201cJunior\u201d Persico, and Paul Castellano, the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/08\/16\/rudy-giuliani-slams-rico-charge-against-him-as-ridiculous\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York\u2064 Post<\/a> reported \u2014 now, ironically, appears to be cast as a player in \u2064the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fulton-county-da-is-taking-a-page-out-of-giulianis-playbook-former-mayor-is-furious\/\" title=\"Fulton County DA adopts Giuliani's tactics, angers ex-mayor.\">legal chess match aimed<\/a> at taking on the big kahuna: Donald Trump.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/trump-georgia-indictment-what-are-rico-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS<\/a>, \u2064Georgia\u2019s RICO \u2063statute\u2062 is broader than its\u200d federal counterpart.<\/p>\n<p>However, a conviction under RICO requires proving the existence \u2064of an enterprise engaging in criminal actions \u200cfor a shared goal. This is why Trump \u2064is not the only defendant; Rudy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pete-buttigieg-forced-wait-hallway-east-palestine-mayor-spoke-rudy-giuliani-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Giuliani<\/a> and others are\u2062 also charged\u2063 for their roles in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-indicted-former-president-slams-georgia-charges-as-he-claims-witch-hunt-continues\/\" title=\"Donald Trump indicted, criticizes Georgia charges as 'Witch Hunt persists'.\">alleged racketeering scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani called Fulton\u200d County District \u200dAttorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-georgia-prosecutor-fani-willis-proposes-date-trump-arraignment-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fani Willis<\/a> an \u201cincompetent,\u200d sloppy prosecutor,\u201d the Post reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a \u2063ridiculous application of \u2064the racketeering statute.
