Colton Moore has \u2064begun a \u200bprocess that could lead \u2063to the impeachment of Fulton County District Attorney Fani\u200d Willis.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Willis announced that a grand jury had handed up the latest sham <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-trump-indicted-ga-11-criminal-charges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">indictment<\/a> of the former \u200dpresident. Trump and \u206418 co<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fulton-county-prosecutor-could-face-trial-of-her-own-lawmaker-fires-his-own-shot-at-da\/\" title=\"Fulton County Prosecutor may face trial, lawmaker targets DA.\">-defendants face\u2062 charges<\/a> for daring to\u2063 contest the results\u200d of the\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kari-lake-responds-to-opponents-refusal-to-debate\/\" title=\"Kari Lake Responds to Opponent's Refusal to Debate\">controversial 2020 presidential election<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/665486965\/Colton-Moore-Fani-Willis-Emergency-Session-Letter-docx#from_embed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> Thursday to Republican Gov. Brian\u2064 Kemp, Moore declared\u2063 that \u201can\u200d emergency exists in\u2063 the affairs of the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the lawmaker, whose <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Georgia_State_Senate_District_53\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">district<\/a> covers the northwest corner of the state, insisted \u2062that this emergency demands \u201ca special session\u201d of the\u2063 Georgia General \u200dAssembly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica is under attack,\u201d\u2064 he said in a post on X, formerly called \u200dTwitter, in which he shared the\u200d letter. \u201cI\u2019m not going to \u2063sit back and watch as radical left prosecutors politically TARGET political opponents.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">As a Georgia State Senator, I am officially calling for an emergency session to review the actions of \u200bFani Willis.<\/p>\n<p>America is under attack. I\u2019m \u200dnot going to sit back \u200band watch \u200bas \u2064radical left \u2063prosecutors\u200d politically TARGET political\u2063 opponents. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gpzg2l5uIU\">pic.twitter.com\/gpzg2l5uIU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u200dSen. Colton Moore (@realColtonMoore)\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realColtonMoore\/status\/1692175623391957219?\">August 17, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Moore intends to launch an investigation that \u2063could stop <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-georgia-prosecutor-fani-willis-proposes-date-trump-arraignment-trial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Willis<\/a> in her tracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe must \u200bstrip all funding \u2064and, if appropriate, impeach Fani Willis,\u201d he \u2062said in a statement, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2023\/08\/17\/exclusive-georgia-state-senator-takes-first-step-impeach-trumps-fulton-county-prosecutor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breitbart<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A\u2064 letter signed by three-fifths of \u2064the members of both legislative houses would trigger an emergency session.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans currently hold\u200c sizable majorities in the \u200cGeorgia Senate (<a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Georgia_State_Senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">33-23<\/a>) and House of Representatives (<a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/Georgia_House_of_Representatives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">102-78<\/a>). \u200bBoth majorities, however, fall short \u200bof the three-fifths threshold. \u2062If delegates act along party lines, therefore, Moore\u2019s quest \u2062for a \u200cspecial session will fail.<\/p>\n<p>Where Trump is concerned, however, party lines often mean little.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, the state\u2019s governor also has the authority to call\u200c a special session. But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-calls-resignation-georgia-gov-brian-kemp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kemp<\/a> and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger have not\u2064 supported\u200d Trump in the past.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, Moore faces an uphill battle.<\/p>\n<p>A cynic might conclude that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/usa-today-columnist-mocks-republican-who-died-after-battling-coronavirus\/\" title=\"USA Today Columnist Mocks Republican Who Died After Battling Coronavirus\">state senator\u2019<\/a>s\u200b effort to defund and \u2063possibly impeach\u2062 Willis appears doomed from \u2063the outset.<\/p>\n<p>After all, the intensity of \u2063leftist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hateful-comments-target-trump-little-girl-touching-moment-mom-steps-forward-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hatred<\/a> toward Trump makes it unlikely that any Democratic legislator in Georgia would \u200dbreak ranks. Nor does it seem\u2063 possible that a governor who \u200chas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-surprises-opposing-georgias-govs-plan-reopen-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">feuded with Trump<\/a> would call a special session\u2062 to chastise\u2062 this particular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-taps-u-s-attorney-opposed-to-prosecution-of-drug-dealers-and-thieves\/\" title=\"Biden Taps U.S. Attorney Opposed to Prosecution of Drug Dealers and Thieves\">rogue prosecutor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The 2020 election in Georgia\u200d was not\u2064 stolen.<\/p>\n<p>For nearly three years now, anyone with \u2063evidence \u200dof\u2064 fraud has failed to come forward \u2013 \u2062under oath \u2013 and\u2063 prove anything in a court of law.
