Million from Tuohy Family<\/h2>\n<p>OAN\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/brooke-mallory\">Brooke \u200bMallory<\/a><br \/>10:48 AM \u2013 Thursday, August 17, \u20632023<\/p>\n<p>According to the \u2064Tuohy family\u2019s\u2062 attorney,\u2062 Michael\u200d Oher, the ex-NFL star whose story \u2062inspired the Oscar-winning \u200dfilm \u201cThe Blind Side,\u201d allegedly demanded that his conservatorship family pay him an extra $15 million or he would go public\u200b with claims that they swindled him.<\/p>\n<p>Leigh Anne and\u200b Sean Tuohy,\u2064 according to their legal representative, assert \u200bthat \u200cthere is \u200bno credibility to Oher\u2019s claims that he was duped into a conservatorship\u2062 and that the couple made millions off of his life story.<\/p>\n<p>Their attorney also told TMZ \u200cSports\u200d that Oher was \u200dactually the main\u2064 offender,\u200b threatening to \u201cplant a negative story\u201d about the Tuohys in the \u200cpress if they did not pay an additional eight-figure sum.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cOver the years, the Tuohys\u2063 have given Mr. Oher an equal cut of every\u2064 penny\u200d received from \u2018The Blind Side,&#8217;\u201d said attorney Marty \u2063Singer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven recently, when Mr. Oher started to \u2063threaten them about what he would\u200d do\u2062 unless \u200cthey paid him an eight-figure windfall and, as part of that shakedown \u2063effort, refused to cash the\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/blind-side-son-on-accusations-from-ex-nfl-star-michael-oher-i-get-it-why-hes-mad\/\" title=\"'Blind Side' son understands ex-NFL star's anger\">small profit checks<\/a> from the Tuohys, they still deposited Mr. Oher\u2019s\u200c equal share into a trust account they set up for \u2063his son.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Oher, according to Singer, was dropped as a client by \u200dother attorneys, but \u200b\u201chas finally \u200dfound a\u2063 willing enabler and filed this ludicrous lawsuit as a cynical \u200dattempt\u200d to drum\u2064 up \u2063attention in the middle of his latest \u200cbook tour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oher was also part of the Baltimore Ravens 2013 Super Bowl-winning team.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2064 37-year-old\u200d filed a lawsuit in court in \u200dShelby County, Tennessee, on \u2063Monday, alleging that he only recently discovered he was not officially adopted by the Tuohys \u2064and that\u200c he was placed in a conservatorship, allowing them \u2062to\u2064 retain \u2064legal power over him.<\/p>\n<p>Oher claimed that \u2062the Tuohys \u200dmade millions\u200c of dollars through the\u2064 conservatorship as a result of \u201cThe Blind Side,\u201d which grossed $300 million\u2064 at the box office, while he received\u2062 \u201cnothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Singer and the \u2062family adamantly denied the allegations, \u200bclaiming\u2064 that the Tuohys \u201creceived a small advance from the production company and a tiny percentage of net profits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According \u2064to Oher\u2019s lawsuit, the couple and their two biological children allegedly\u2064 earned $225,000 \u2063each from the film, plus 2.5% of the \u201cdefined net proceeds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062attorney also maintained that the family had no reason to defraud Oher\u2064 since they are already millionaires in \u200ctheir own right thanks to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-blind-side-family-denies-ohers-claims-says-he-threatened-extortion-unless-they-coughed-up-extra-15m\/\" title=\"'The Blind Side' family denies Oher's claims, alleges extortion for additional M.\">fast food\u200b franchise dealings<\/a>, which have earned them at least $213 \u2063million.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe notion that a couple worth hundreds of millions of dollars would connive to withhold\u200d a few thousand dollars in profit participation payments from anyone\u2014let alone from someone they loved as\u200c a son\u2014defies belief,\u201d Singer told the entertainment press.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Additionally, Oher admitted that the couple did explain what the conservatorship\u200b would\u200d entail for him, but in \u2063terms that he now claims were purposefully\u200d confusing and \u200dhard to understand in legal terms.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThey\u200c explained to me that it\u2064 means pretty much \u200cthe exact same thing as \u2018adoptive parents,\u2019 but that the laws
