Supreme Court Slows President Trump\u2019s PA Case!\">court system<\/a>, Randy Koschnick, has filed five \u2063complaints against his replacement and the liberal state Supreme Court justices who voted to oust him. Koschnick claims that his dismissal was politically motivated and that\u200d the new appointment is illegal.<\/p>\n<p>Koschnick was\u2062 appointed to his role as the state&#8217;s top nonjudicial court official in 2017 when conservatives held the \u200cmajority. He filed his\u200b grievances \u200con Tuesday with the Wisconsin Judicial Commission, an independent\u2063 agency tasked with enforcing a code of conduct for judges and court commissioners\u200d in the\u200b state.<\/p>\n<h3>Challenging the \u2062Legality of the Appointment<\/h3>\n<p>In his \u2062complaint, Koschnick argues that \u200dAudrey Skwierawski, a Milwaukee County judge who has been named interim director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nyc-man-arrested-three-times-in-36-hours-brags-of-release-due-to-cash-bail-reform\/\" title=\"NYC Man Arrested Three Times in 36 Hours Brags of Release Due to Cash Bail Reform\">state court system<\/a>, is not legally\u2062 allowed to be in\u200d that \u200crole until July 2025. He claims that\u2063 the\u200b state constitution prohibits judges from holding\u2063 nonjudicial offices until their terms end.<\/p>\n<p>Koschnick also filed complaints against Justices \u2062Ann Walsh \u2063Bradley, Rebecca Dallet, Jill Karofsky, and Janet Protasiewicz.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think it&#8217;s a real\u200b threat to \u2064the system, long term, to have justices \u200dnot following the constitution and apparently not being concerned about it,&#8221; Koschnick said.<\/p>\n<h3>Response from Skwierawski<\/h3>\n<p>Skwierawski, who \u2062took leave\u2062 from her position on the Milwaukee County Circuit\u200c Court on Aug. 3, responded to the allegations in a statement. She stated that she worked with legal experts \u200dand reviewed the law herself to ensure \u2063her eligibility for the new role. As director\u200b of state\u2063 courts, she will advise the \u200bstate Supreme Court on process improvements and oversee budgets and operations.<\/p>\n<h3>Conservative Chief Justice&#8217;s Disappointment<\/h3>\n<p>Chief Justice Annette Ziegler, a conservative, expressed\u2063 her disappointment in her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scotus-refuses-to-hear-pa-election-lawsuits\/\" title=\"SCOTUS refuses to hear Pa. election lawsuits\">liberal colleagues<\/a>\u200c for Koschnick&#8217;s firing. She \u2062called\u200b it &#8220;a raw exercise of overreaching\u200b power&#8221;\u200c and criticized the procedural and legal flaws in the ousting. However, she did not indicate that \u2064she would intervene, fearing it could lead to the \u200bfiring of other court employees.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is shameful,&#8221; \u2062Ziegler added. &#8220;I\u200c fear\u2062 this is only the beginning.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Political\u2063 Battle \u200dfor Control<\/h3>\n<p>The fight \u200cover ideological control of the\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fired-wisconsin-courts-director-files-complaint-against-liberal-judges-who-ousted-him\/\" title=\"Fired Wisconsin courts director files complaint against judges who removed him\">court gained national attention<\/a> when Janet Protasiewicz defeated former Justice Daniel Kelly in a \u2063record-breaking\u2064 election. This victory shifted the balance\u2062 of power from conservatives, who had been in control for 15 \u2064years, to liberals. Protasiewicz&#8217;s win now makes her the \u2064deciding vote on important issues such as \u200cabortion rights, legislative maps, and potentially\u2064 the 2024 presidential race.<\/p>\n<p>Wisconsin Supreme Court justices are technically nonpartisan, but\u200b Protasiewicz has taken public \u200bstances\u200c on abortion and legislative maps. Republicans \u200din the state legislature have threatened to \u2062impeach her if she does not recuse herself from certain cases, although the likelihood of her removal is slim due to the Democratic governor&#8217;s\u2064 approval being required.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At the \u2062end of the day, Wisconsin is a deeply and \u200dbitterly divided state, politically, and those divisions are very much\u200c reflected on the state Supreme Court,&#8221; said Anthony Chergosky, an\u200b expert on the state&#8217;s politics and courts at \u200bthe University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.<\/p>\n<p>The Wisconsin Supreme Court\u2064 did \u200dnot respond \u2062to a request for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The ex-director of Wisconsin&#8217;s court system filed five complaints against his replacement and liberal state Supreme Court justices.
