Media Tries To Frame Him As Victim\">license plate<\/a> \u200dhas subtly asked Californians to remain in their own state for\u2064 almost two decades \u2063can keep it, \u2062a \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-rules-man-can-keep-anti-california-license-plate-after-dmv-calls-it-racist-and-defamatory\/\" title=\"Judge allows man to keep controversial license plate despite DMV's claims of racism and defamation.\">judge decided earlier<\/a>\u2062 this week.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2004, Adam Steelmon of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-reno-mayor-sues-finding-tracking-device-vehicle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reno<\/a> has \u200bdriven with a personalized plate with a simple message \u2014 <strong>\u201cGo Back to California.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The plate reads: <strong>\u201cGOBK2CA.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">A judge has\u200b ruled that \u2064a Reno man can keep his GOBK2CA license plate\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Z6RFITzt4G\">https:\/\/t.co\/Z6RFITzt4G<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 KOLO8\u2064 (@KOLO8) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KOLO8\/status\/1691203635126976512?\">August 14, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5vegas.com\/2023\/08\/14\/judge-rules-nevada-man-can-keep-anti-california-license-plate\/?fbclid=IwAR3rIXe6azrWuSaikvIaxqWU47MFK4o7eWWcQb-lWnLWtMAI6VhiTC4x-U4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KVVU-TV<\/a> reported the\u2063 plate was flagged and accused of\u200d promoting a \u201cdefamatory\u201d and possibly \u201cracist\u201d message.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/californians-literally-breathing-mexican-sewage-study-claims-isnt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Californians<\/a> are not a protected class of \u200dpeople, which a judge\u2063 apparently agreed with after Steelmon fought the revocation of\u200b the\u2063 license plate.<\/p>\n<p>Steelmon\u2064 never had any issues with the plate until last month when he posted a picture of\u2062 it online.<\/p>\n<p>It went viral, but not everyone enjoyed its message.<\/p>\n<p>The next\u200d thing he knew, he told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kolotv.com\/2023\/07\/07\/gobk2ca-nevada-license-plate-recall\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KOLO-TV<\/a>, \u200dthe state of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/police-search-nevada-home-tupac-shakur-murder-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nevada<\/a> \u2063 told \u200bhim the Department of Motor Vehicles was going to\u200d recall the plate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[About a week after the Facebook post] I get a letter from the DMV saying we don\u2019t \u2063feel\u200b like your license \u200cplate is appropriate and here\u2019s a letter saying we\u2019re \u2063recalling them,\u201d he \u2064said.<\/p>\n<p>Steelmon added, \u201cLocal law enforcement have pulled me over to tell me they liked my license plate.\u200d Texas has pulled me \u2063over.\u200d In 20\u200b years,\u2062 I\u2019ve had one person \u200dsay, \u2018Well, I don\u2019t \u2063think your license plates are very appropriate.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The man challenged the state\u2019s\u200c decision to revoke his plate, and on Monday a\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/california-dmv-admits-voter-registration-failure-noncitizens-added-voter-rolls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DMV<\/a> administrative judge\u200d ruled in Steelmon\u2019s \u2062favor, KVVU reported.<\/p>\n<p>Steelmon may keep the plate,\u200b so long as he does not\u200d let his\u200c payments on it lapse.<\/p>\n<p>Public \u200bInformation Officer for the \u2064Nevada DMV Eli Rohl, explained the state\u2019s statute on \u200bwhat can be put on a \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/state-revokes-mans-license-plate-over-6-letters-that-seemingly-insult-joe-biden\/\" title=\"State Revokes Man's License Plate Over 6 Letters That Seemingly Insult Joe Biden\">personalized license plate<\/a> to\u200b KOLO.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCan\u2019t print numbers upside down. Can\u2019t \u200cdo more \u200cthan 7 numbers. You can\u2019t express \u2064contempt, \u200dridicule or superiority of race, ethnic heritage, or gender,\u201d \u2062Rohl said.<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cCan\u2019t have any\u200d sexual, \u2062derogatory or\u2063 obscene.
