Why's That?\">criminal act<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In this case, the criminal act, according\u2064 to the indictment, was \u201cknowingly and willfully [joining] a conspiracy to\u2062 unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Is Trump \u200dGuilty?<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Whether this amounts to a crime comes\u200b down to the question of whether Trump himself knew that he had lost the election; if he believed that he\u200c had won, then\u2062 all the other accusations about him fall away.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After\u200c all, it \u2062is not a crime to \u200bpursue a spurious \u2062legal strategy in furtherance of a delusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But by\u2063 charging RICO, Willis extends the case\u200c to people who may\u2064 have admitted that Trump \u2064lost the\u2062 election.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This accomplishes two purposes.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First, it puts these alleged co-conspirators in serious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-democrat-group-under-criminal-investigation-for-work-with-firm-tied-to-hunter-biden\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Democrat Group Under Criminal Investigation For Work With Firm Tied To Hunter Biden\">legal jeopardy<\/a>, and gives them reason to\u200c flip on Trump himself.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Second, it \u200cmay allow Willis to\u2062 charge Trump as part of\u200d a criminal conspiracy <i>even if<\/i> he personally believed he \u2062won the election \u2014 after all, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-poised-to-deliver-victory-for-school-choice-in-religious-vouchers-case\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Poised To Deliver Victory for School Choice in Religious Vouchers Case\">case law suggests<\/a> that co-conspirators can be charged under RICO even if they didn\u2019t agree on every\u2063 aspect\u2063 of\u2063 the conspiracy, so long\u200d as they knew the \u201cgeneral nature of the enterprise.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>The Unique Danger \u200cof\u2063 the \u2062Georgia Case<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Georgia \u200dcase also presents a unique danger to \u200dTrump because it is a <i>state case<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Manhattan \u200dcase against Trump rooted in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-highly-dangerous-georgia-indictments\/\" title=\"The Georgia Indictments: A Grave Threat\">campaign finance \u200ballegations<\/a> is incredibly weak, and is\u2062 an obvious stretch; the Florida and D.C. cases against\u2062 Trump are federal, which means that if \u2063elected president, \u200bhe could \u200ctheoretically pardon himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Georgia case is both \u2062wide-ranging and state-based: if convicted, Trump\u2064 would go to state prison, and would have no ability to pardon himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Georgia Governor Brian Kemp does not \u2062have \u2062unilateral pardon \u2063power, either: in Georgia, pardons work through an appointed board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">So the very \u200breal prospect exists that even were Trump \u2062elected,\u2062 he\u2019d start\u200c his term \u200cfrom a state prison.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Locked \u200cin Courthouses<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But even that discussion is premature: the Georgia case, along with all the other indictments against Trump, are going to lock him into courthouses for\u200c the rest of\u200c the election cycle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">What\u2019s more, every waking\u2062 moment for the media will be \u200ccoverage of those court cases.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That will \u2062make it impossible for Trump \u2013 even if \u200che\u200d were so inclined,\u200c which\u2064 has shown no evidence of being \u2013\u2064 to talk about\u2063 Joe Biden\u2062 rather\u200c than his legal peril.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And \u200bthere has\u2063 yet to be\u2064 a\u2063 single piece of data suggesting that Americans are driven to vote for Trump because of his legal troubles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To \u2064pardon yourself, you \u200bhave to be elected president.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But spending your\u2064 entire presidential race in\u2063 the dock\u200d makes that a radically uphill battle.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Terrible\u2064 Consequences<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All of this \u2062is\u2062 quite terrible for the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No matter what you think of\u200b Trump\u2019s various legal imbroglios \u2014 from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-slams-nasty-special-counsel-jack-smith-in-hannity-town-hall-as-indictment-looms\/\" title=\"Trump criticizes special counsel Jack Smith as indictment approaches during Hannity town hall.\">mishandling\u2063 classified documents<\/a> to paying off porn stars to calling up\u2062 the Georgia secretary\u200d of state in an attempt to \u201cfind\u201d votes\u2064 \u2013 the glass \u2064has\u200c now \u200cbeen broken over and\u200b over and over again: political opponents\u2062 can be targeted\u2064 by legal enemies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2062 will not\u200b be unbroken.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you think\u2064 that only Democratic DAs will play this game, you have \u2063another thing coming.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prepare for a \u200dfuture in\u200b which running for office \u200ccarries the legal risk of going to jail \u2014 on all sides \u2014 \u200dwhich means that only\u200b the worst \u2062and the \u2063most shameless will run for\u200c office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE\u2064 DAILY \u200cWIRE APP<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week, Fulton County DA Fani Willis shook American politics with a 98-page indictment.
