But then, in 2020, it switched back \u2064to \u201cBlack\u201d \u2014 only now we had to capitalize it or we were some kind of retrograde mouth-breather. \u201cHispanic\u201d or \u200b\u201cLatino\/a\u201d\u2064 became \u201cLatinx\u201d\u2062 \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wokespeak-fail-3-voters-use-latinx-refer-hispanics-not-worst-part\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">somewhat to the \u2064consternation<\/a> of most\u2062 \u201cLatinx\u201d people, it\u2019s worth noting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHomeless\u201d became \u201cunhoused.\u201d \u201cIllegal immigrants\u201d became \u201cundocumented immigrants\u201d became \u201cirregular migrants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And now, an absurd, deluded\u200d attempt to remake the English language by \u2064trying to do away with \u201che&#8217;\u201d and \u200b\u201cshe&#8217;\u201d \u200bis simply called a \u201cneopronoun.\u201d I\u2019ll give you that \u2063it\u2019s shorter, but the neologism is otherwise worse in every conceivable way.<\/p>\n<p>But don\u2019t tell \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/us\/neopronouns-explained-xe-xyr-wellness-cec\/index.html?utm_medium=social&#038;utm_source=twCNN&#038;utm_term=link&#038;utm_content=2023-08-12T09%3A59%3A37\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a> \u2064 that. On Saturday, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cnn-shakes-programming-slate-adds-two-new-prime-time-hosts-lineup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cable news \u2063outlet\u2019s<\/a> website published a handy cheat-sheet\u2063 to the new language\u2062 titled,\u200b \u201cA guide to \u200bneopronouns, from\u200d ae to ze.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the most common words in the English language \u2064have gender markers, including pronouns. But not all of them \u2064are binary,\u201d the piece noted. \u201cConsider the singular \u2018they,\u2019 preferred by some nonbinary and trans people for\u200b whom gendered pronouns do not fit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then there are neopronouns \u200b(\u2018new\u2019 \u200cpronouns), gender-neutral \u200dor nonbinary pronouns that are distinct from the common she, he and they. Neopronouns include terms like \u2018xe\u2019 and \u2019em,\u2019 and some of them even date\u2063 back several centuries, when they were introduced by \u2063writers as a solution\u200b for referring to subjects without assuming gender. Now, they\u2019re also commonly used by nonbinary and\u200d trans people.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">A guide to neopronouns, from ae to \u200bze \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8vzoELbffQ\">https:\/\/t.co\/8vzoELbffQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CNN (@CNN) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CNN\/status\/1690302010229198848?\">August 12,\u200b 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>CNN consulted with the LGBT activist group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/anheuser-busch-hasnt-learned-lesson-bud-light-appearing-pride-festival-rosters-across-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Human Rights \u200bCampaign<\/a> to come up with some examples \u200bof how to \u2062pronounce and use \u201cneopronouns.\u201d It didn\u2019t come across any better than it sounds:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>xe\/xyr (commonly pronounced zee\/zeer): \u201cI \u2062asked xyr to come to the movies. Xe said yes!\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>ze\/zir \u200cor ze\/hir (commonly pronounced zee\/zeer or\u2064 zee\/heer): \u201cThe teacher graded zir paper today,\u2063 and ze\u2062 got an A!\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>fae\/faer \u200c(commonly pronounced fay\/fair): \u201cFae told me that faer best friend is in town this week.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>ey\/em\/eir\u00a0\u00a0(commonly pronounced aye\/em\/air): \u201cI\u2019m taking em to the park \u2064today. \u200bEy wants\u200b to\u200b bring eir camera to capture the garden for emself!\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stellar. I\u2019ve always \u2064wanted everyday water-cooler conversation and\/or work email threads to sound every bit as impenetrable as \u200bE.E. Cummings\u2019 \u2064\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/poetrymagazine\/poems\/22653\/anyone-lived-in-a-pretty-how-town\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anyone lived in \u2062a pretty how town<\/a>.\u201d First text messaging did\u200b away with that pesky capitalization \u2064and now, it\u2064 seems, the wokeistas have done\u200b away \u2064with coherence. The cummings-ization of American conversation is\u200d officially nearing completion.<\/p>\n<p>But wait, there\u2019s more! (Or less, \u2062depending on\u2062 how much \u2063value you place on comprehensibility.) In\u200d addition to \u201cneopronouns,\u201d CNN explains, there are also \u201cnounself\u200b pronouns.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOther neopronouns are completely original to their user \u2014 some may choose to select a noun to describe themselves, like \u2018star\u2019 or \u2018starself\u2019 in place of binary pronouns like \u2018she\u2019 or \u2018herself.\u2019 These are called nounself \u2062neopronouns,\u201d the article read.<\/p>\n<p>If this sounds \u2063absolutely preposterous on \u2064its face, it gets even worse when you examine the origin of \u201cnounself neopronouns\u201d: a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-non-binary-hire-sordid-sex-life-allegedly-stole-womans-luggage-establishment-media-quiet-past\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media platform<\/a> so wretched\u200b it makes\u2064 4chan look like \u201cFiring\u200b Line.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to CNN, \u201cnounself pronouns are neopronouns that use nature and other inspirations as nonbinary or genderless descriptors. \u200cLinguist Jason D\u2019Angelo told The New York Times that nounself pronouns were popularized on the social platform Tumblr around 2012 and 2013 and\u2063 remain \u200bin use \u200camong \u200bmembers of fandoms \u200cwho may take their nounself pronouns from the properties they enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor someone who uses the nounself pronoun \u2018leaf,\u2019 that may look like:\u2063 \u2018I hope leaf knows how proud we are that leaf is getting to know leafself better!\u2019 or \u2018Leaf arrived at the \u200ccoffee shop before me; I was \u200dmortified to have been late to meet \u200bleaf.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, personally, I\u2019m staying\u2064 away\u2062 from anyone \u2062who calls themselves \u201cleaf,\u201d particularly if they got the notion from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/netflix-kids-show-creator-wrote-sick-pedophile-post-stalking-young-boy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cesspool\u200d that is Tumblr<\/a>. \u2062But \u2014 and here\u2019s a shocker \u2014 despite the fact nounself neopronouns are a snowflake fad started in the dimmest corner of the left-bubble social\u2064 media landscape, academics are reportedly taking this \u200dpiffle seriously.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\" class=\"one-half\">\n<div class=\"firefly-poll-question\">Is CNN a failed\u200d news network?<\/div>\n<div id=\"pollFormBox\" style=\"display: none\">\n<p>\t\t<label>Yes<\/label><br \/>\n\t\t<label>No<\/label><br \/>\n\t\t<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-poll-disclaimer\">\n<p>\t\tCompleting\u200c this poll entitles you to The Western Journal news updates\u200b free of \u2063charge. My nounself neopronouns for \u2062the day are \u200cnausea\/nauseaself.
