This information is then used by the woke \u200cmob to shame companies for their \u200caffiliations. Ultimately, the aim is to\u200b reduce membership and contributions to any organization or individual that does not align with liberal orthodoxy,&#8221; the report states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The \u200cmemo highlights three key \u2063groups &#8211; the Corporate Reform Coalition, the Proxy Preview triad, and\u2062 the Center for Political Accountability\u200b &#8211; that\u200b are actively\u200b working to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/musks-x-influenced-by-censorship-group-republicans-allege-may-violate-federal-law\/\" title=\"Republicans claim that Musk's X is influenced by a group accused of violating federal law through censorship.\">suppress conservative voices<\/a> within corporate America. These resolutions claim that aligning with these conservative groups contradicts the ESG initiatives pursued by the companies.<\/p>\n<p>Jerome Trankle, the Director of Research at the American Accountability Foundation, emphasizes the threat that governance standards pose \u200dto companies, subjecting their political spending to the scrutiny of the &#8220;woke mob.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>A Threat to Free Speech and Freedom of Association<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;While ESG&#8217;s impact on the energy industry and \u2064America&#8217;s energy independence\u2062 is widely known,\u2064 little attention\u200c has been given to the threat it poses to trade associations and advocacy groups. The ESG movement, which is \u200dclosely aligned\u200b with the organized Left, has co-opted the shareholder resolution process \u2062to expose the political spending of public \u200bcompanies to the judgment\u2062 of the\u2063 woke mob,&#8221; Trankle explains.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Trankle further asserts that this approach is an attack on free speech and freedom of association,\u2062 deliberately aimed at cutting off companies from supporting pro-business and conservative organizations.<\/p>\n<p>ESG policies have faced increasing\u2063 scrutiny in recent years, with BlackRock CEO Larry Fink announcing in June that he would no \u200clonger use the\u2063 term.
