She told Newsmax on Wednesday \u200cmorning that this was a deliberate move by \u200cFulton County \u2064District Attorney Fani Willis\u200c to prevent Trump from pardoning himself if he is convicted. She emphasized, &#8220;It should be moved to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/australia-expects-unemployment-rate-to-rise-as-global-economy-slows\/\" title=\"Australia anticipates higher unemployment rates due to the global economic slowdown.\">federal\u2064 court<\/a>. Election claims and claims of \u200csomebody who was a \u2063president at the time should\u2062 be viewed by a federal court. There&#8217;s presidential immunities at play here \u2062and this has no business being\u2063 in a state \u200dcourt,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Meadows, former chief \u200cof staff to President Trump, was \u200bthe first \u200dof the 19 defendants to file a motion to transfer the \u2062case to federal court, and others are expected to follow suit.<\/p>\n<p>Lindsey Halligan, attorney to President Trump, confirmed on Tuesday that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/johnny-depp-to-be-called-back-to-stand-today-as-explosive-trial-winds-down-report\/\" title=\"Johnny Depp To Be Called Back To Stand Today As Explosive Trial Winds Down: Report\">legal team plans<\/a> \u200dto file a motion to move the case to federal court. She \u200bstated, &#8220;This case should \u200dbe removed, this indictment is exactly the type of state interference\u2063 in a federal official&#8217;s duty \u200dthat the supremacy clause in the United\u2062 States Constitution prohibits.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On \u200dMonday, President Trump and 18 others \u200cwere charged under the RICO statute with 161 acts of racketeering. Ms. Halligan added,\u2063 &#8220;If the case is removed\u200c to federal court there will not be cameras in\u2062 the courtroom. Ms. Willis seems \u200cto want this case to be\u2062 televised. \u200dI&#8217;m sure she&#8217;s very proud of herself, but let&#8217;s remember how easy it is to indict someone. This indictment does not mean a conviction. It&#8217;s not a crime to contest an election.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Halligan and\u2062 Ms. Habba both expressed\u200b concerns about\u2062 the prosecutors&#8217; \u200bpotential collaboration in \u2064the four cases against President Trump. They believe that the prosecutors should remain independent \u2064and not communicate \u200dwith\u200d each other.<\/p>\n<h2>DA Proposes March 4 Trial<\/h2>\n<p>The attorneys for President Trump also questioned the feasibility of going to\u2064 trial within\u2064 six months, as\u200c promised by Ms. Willis. Ms. Halligan called\u200d the timeline &#8220;laughable&#8221; and\u200b pointed out that another RICO case brought by \u2064Ms. Willis has yet to \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-lawyer-says-georgia-case-being-tried-outside-federal-court-by-design\/\" title=\"Trump lawyer claims Georgia case deliberately being tried outside federal court.\">finalize jury selection<\/a> since January. She \u2062remarked, &#8220;Within \u200bsix months, during election time, what\u200b a coincidence.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a court filing on Wednesday,\u2063 Ms. Willis requested a \u200btrial date \u2064of March 4,\u200c 2024. This conveniently meets the \u200bsix-month deadline and falls one day before Super Tuesday, when \u2063several states will hold their primaries.
