(Scott Olson\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>Democrats: Bidenomics \u2064A Boon<\/h2>\n<p>Ms. Cancela,\u200c the first Latina elected to the Nevada Senate and chief of staff to former Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak, said since assuming office, President Biden has \u201csigned over 300 \u2062pieces of bipartisan legislation\u200b into law, including the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the bipartisan Safer Communities \u200cAct, the reauthorization of the Violence \u200cAgainst Women Act, the Electoral Count Reform Act, and the \u200bRespect for Marriage Act, protecting the\u2063 right \u2062to marry the person \u2064you love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said for President \u2063Biden and Vice \u200dPresident Kamala Harris, this is \u201cjust the \u200dbeginning. We are just getting started. We will work to build an economy \u200dthat\u200b works from the bottom up.<\/p>\n<p>Ms.\u2063 Cancela ran through a\u200b roster of statistics that, she said, confirm that the President\u2019s economic plan is gaining traction and will deliver jobs that will increase the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-a-tale-of-two-breakfasts-bidenomics-draws-praise-and-reproach-from-state-lawmakers\/\" title=\"Bidenomics Receives Mixed Reviews from State Lawmakers in Breakfast Tale.\">commerce-generated tax revenues<\/a> that will stem debt spending.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden \u201cfundamentally believes a job \u200dis about\u2064 so much more than a paycheck. When he talks about work, he talks \u200dabout it being about dignity, about respect, about the ability to go home and say\u200d \u2018things are going to be okay,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cAnd \u200che has a great plan to make\u200c sure that happens.\u200b It&#8217;s Bidenomics, and it&#8217;s a fundamental \u200dbreak from trickle-down economic policies that have failed middle-class families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are three key components \u200dof Bidenomics, \u200bshe said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, it\u2019s making smart investments in America. It&#8217;s investing in our\u2063 infrastructure, \u2064in our manufacturing, and in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-may-give-european-automakers-us-tax-credit-for-battery-critical-mineral-production\/\" title=\"Biden May Give European Automakers US Tax Credit for Battery, Critical Mineral Production\">clean energy economies<\/a>,\u201d Cancela said.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b second component, she said, \u201cis empowering American workers to do that work. It\u2019s increasing wages, educating workers, and \u2064supporting our unions,\u201d drawing applause with the reference to unions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The third\u200b leg of the Bidenomics platform is \u201cpromoting competition and lowering costs. \u2063It&#8217;s like [banning] \u2018junk fees,\u2019 fighting to \u2062ban non-compete \u2062agreements, and making sure there&#8217;s a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brexit-trade-deal-published-as-uk-calls-for-end-to-ugly-divisions\/\" title=\"Brexit trade deal published as UK calls for end to \u2018ugly\u2019 divisions\">level playing field<\/a> for us in \u2062all\u2014and it&#8217;s working.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Cancela said the nation\u2019s 3.5 percent unemployment rate is the \u2062latest is a pattern of\u2062 \u201cnew record lows,\u201d marking the \u201clongest stretch\u201d of declining joblessness\u2063 in \u201cover 50 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She said during the Biden administration,\u2063 13 million jobs\u200c had been added to the economy, which was in post-pandemic tatters, \u200cwith nine million jobs lost in the preceding year when\u200b he assumed office.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have regained every\u2064 job lost during the pandemic\u200b and added four million\u201d new jobs, Ms. Cancela said.<\/p>\n<p>Inflation has declined for 11 straight months, \u201cand it&#8217;s no accident,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd\u2062 thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, there are more than 35,000 new projects coming to life across the country. I bet some of you are\u200d seeing them right in your own districts. It&#8217;s\u2063 immensely exciting when some of these big signs pop up with roadway signs that say, \u2018Brought to you by President Joe Biden.\u2019 It just means that there\u2064 are jobs\u2062 and new industries \u2064coming.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Cancela said, The CHIPS &#038; Science Act \u201chas\u200b revitalized manufacturing. It&#8217;s strengthening American supply chains and creating good-paying American jobs\u201d with nearly $150 billion\u2014\u201cthat\u2019s \u200cbillion with\u2063 a b\u201d\u2014in investments \u200bin American semiconductor manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d IRA is also kicking in, she said, calling it \u201cthe biggest \u2063investment in climate action in modern history\u201d that\u200d \u201cwill spur investments in our clean energy economy and make sure that\u200b we&#8217;re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-sided-with-the-american-people-biden-slams-republicans-as-he-signs-massive-climate-tax-bill-into-law\/\" title=\"\u2018Democrats Sided With The American People\u2019: Biden Slams Republicans As He Signs Massive Climate, Tax Bill Into Law\">creating good paying jobs<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The IRA offers other benefits as well, Ms. Cancela said, noting under the measure, \u201c15 million people will save an average \u200dof $800 a year on their insurance premiums. It will halve insulin costs for Medicare beneficiaries at $35, and it \u2062will finally, finally, allow Medicare to \u2064negotiate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Democratic state lawmakers said while \u200call these things are wonderful, no one seems to be noticing with the president getting little \u2062credit, \u2064the term \u2064\u2018Bidenomics\u2019 mocked, and many not seeing its benefits in terms of rising wages and \u2063more\u200d accessible home ownership.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. \u2063Cancela turned it\u2063 back on them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wish I had a good answer. I will instead say I have \u200ca \u2062solution \u2064and that is to keep talking about our successes, about how our work being done at the federal level has affected new investments in your \u200ccommunities,\u201d she said. \u201cIt happens in thoughtful economic policy that started at the \u2062highest levels of this administration.
