Being kind\u2063 means you\u2019re\u200d <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">looking out<\/span><\/i> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for them. It means you\u2019re going to tell them something that \u200bthey possibly don\u2019t want to hear. If you \u2064have a friend who is a drug abuser \u2063and you simply say, \u201cYou do\u2062 you,\u201d that\u2064 may be nice, but it\u2019s not kind.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you\u2062 have a child who regularly\u200c does bad \u200cthings and you let \u200bthem, that may be \u200cnice, \u2063but it\u2019s not \u200bkind. Kindness is undergirded by a belief in some sort of higher good. Kindness means you have to use your judgment. You have\u200b to be judgmental.\u200d You have \u200bto know that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">not<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  being a\u2064 drug addict is actually morally \u2062preferable to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">being<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  a \u2062drug\u2063 addict. You have to say \u200cthat certain \u200bbehavior \u200cis better than\u2062 other behavior. It is an act of kindness to chide your fellow man when he goes\u2062 astray.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But niceness says \u2062that\u2019s mean. \u200cNiceness says\u200b you should not do\u200c that.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When you have an entire\u2063 moral system that \u2062is\u2064 based not on kindness, but on niceness, \u2063and when you wipe away\u200c the \u2062<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/if-youre-not-indoctrinating-your-children-then-someone-else-is-allie-beth-stuckey-on-woke-education-entertainment-and-self-love\/\" title=\"\u2018If You\u2019re Not Indoctrinating Your Children, Then Someone Else Is\u2019: Allie Beth Stuckey On Woke Education, Entertainment, And \u2018Self Love\u2019\">moral framework<\/a>, all you\u2019re left with is niceness. Of course, niceness is going to fall apart because what \u2064ends up happening is that people\u200b take \u200cadvantage of niceness. Niceness \u2063lasts only so long as someone\u2019s fist doesn\u2019t touch\u200d your\u200d face.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">That doesn\u2019t last very long. It \u2063turns\u200d out that when you don\u2019t have\u200c a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/being-nice-isnt-enough-to-sustain-a-society\/\" title=\"Kindness alone can't sustain a society.\">shared moral \u200cframework<\/a>, \u200ckindness devolves into niceness, and niceness\u200b gets taken\u200d advantage of by \u2064people who\u2063 don\u2019t care about you\u200b at\u200d all. The people who actually don\u2019t abide\u200b by \u200cniceness are the beneficiaries.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Prisoner&#8217;s\u2063 Dilemma<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Then\u2064 you have an actual \u2064prisoner\u2019s dilemma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In \u2064game theory, in the prisoner\u2019s dilemma, \u200dthe person who benefits the most is the \u200dperson\u2062 who is \u200bnot nice\u200b and violates all the rules. Because while you\u2019re playing by the nice rules, they\u2019re doing\u2062 what \u2064they want, \u200dthey\u2019re getting ahead, and \u2064they\u2019re \u200dwinning.\u200b So you say, \u201cWell, hold\u2063 on a \u2062second. I don\u2019t want to play\u2064 by\u2064 those rules. I\u2019m not going \u2063to play by those rules either.\u201d And then it\u2019s just a race to the bottom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can see this in the polling data. By the late 1990s, Democrats thought\u200d most Republicans were\u2064 bad people, and \u200dRepublicans \u200dsimply thought \u2062most Democrats were wrong. But by \u200droughly \u200b2014, Republicans \u2063started to\u200d echo\u200b that\u2062 maybe Democrats were also bad people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Both sides now think the other side is made up of bad people. Why? Democrats \u200bwere relying on the niceness\u2064 of Republicans \u200dwhile at the same <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-china-is-taking-advantage-of-the-ukraine-crisis-to-undermine-the-united-states\/\" title=\"How China Is Taking Advantage Of The Ukraine Crisis To Undermine The United States\">time taking advantage<\/a> of the\u200b lack\u2063 of kindness in the \u200bsystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You \u200ccan\u2019t build a society \u2062on niceness. No society functions\u2063 well simply on niceness.
