However, the departure of the\u200c Hong Kong-flagged cargo ship\u2064 raises questions about the \u200deffectiveness of their\u2063 blockade.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The good thing is that the grain deal seems to work\u200d without Russia,&#8221; said Ukrainian Foreign\u2062 Affairs Committee Chairman Oleksandr Merezhko. &#8220;Maybe the pressure on\u200b it was so serious that Russia\u2062 doesn&#8217;t risk attacking Ukrainian ships anymore.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>While \u2064the immediate implications for grain exports are largely symbolic, regular \u200ddepartures from Ukrainian ports could embolden the export \u2063industry. Secretary\u200d of State Antony \u2062Blinken and other U.S. officials have expressed concerns\u2064 about the willingness of international transportation and insurance\u200d companies to take the risk of traveling\u200b to \u2063and from \u2063Ukrainian ports without Russian security guarantees.
