This federal \u2063law would \u2063require consumers to prove they are at least 18 years old before gaining access to explicit content.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, most websites only require age confirmation, which is less stringent than verification. However, the poll results indicate a strong desire among Americans\u200c to protect children from early exposure to \u2062sexual content.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It should come \u200bas no shock that\u2064 Americans don&#8217;t\u200b want their kids watching porn,&#8221; says Terry Schilling, the president of the American Principles Project. &#8220;Beyond being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ex-biden-official-speaks-out-on-border-crisis-400k-illegals-have-escaped-into-u-s-90-never-deported\/\" title=\"Ex-Biden Official Speaks Out On Border Crisis: 400K Illegals Have Escaped Into U.S., 90% Never Deported\">simple common sense<\/a>, the evidence is overwhelming that early exposure to sexual content can lead to many \u200cterrible consequences for a child&#8217;s mental and even physical health.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Several states, including Louisiana, Utah, Virginia, Texas, Mississippi, Montana, and Arkansas, have already passed verification laws to safeguard children from pornography. In response, the popular \u200badult website Pornhub has chosen \u2062to cease operations in these\u200d states and instead display\u2063 a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-supreme-court-judge-strikes-down-democrat-governors-mask-mandate\/\" title=\"New York Supreme Court Judge Strikes Down Democrat Governor\u2019s Mask Mandate\">public service announcement featuring<\/a> an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/eighty-three-percent-support-national-mandate-on-age-verification-for-pornography-sites-poll\/\" title=\"83% back national age verification mandate for porn sites: Poll\">adult actress\u200c discussing<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/delaware-supreme-court-strikes-down-voting-by-mail-and-same-day-registration-2\/\" title=\"Delaware Supreme Court Strikes Down Voting by Mail and Same-Day Registration\">newly enacted laws<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The poll conducted by the American Principles Project reveals that a\u200d majority of\u200b Americans, 58%, &#8220;strongly&#8221; favor these laws,\u2063 while an additional 25% \u200d&#8221;somewhat&#8221; favor them. Opposition to the laws remains in the single digits.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Unfortunately, our lawmakers have ignored this issue for too \u200blong while online access to porn \u200bhas exploded among\u200b minors. \u200bBut now, that&#8217;s finally changing,&#8221; Schilling emphasizes. &#8220;Despite the gaslighting by the porn industry, legislators are recognizing the \u2062need for action to protect our kids. As this latest poll shows, Americans from all political \u2062backgrounds are standing behind them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The American Principles Project expects similar laws to be enacted in other states and pledges to advocate for these measures until children are protected in all \u200b50 states.<\/p>\n<p>The poll, conducted by RMG Research, Inc., surveyed 1,000 registered \u2064voters from August 11-14.
