It\u2019s\u200b difficult to prove, and it\u2019s used\u200d pretty sparingly. \u2062Georgia RICO \u2062is a different animal. It\u2019s\u200c easier to prove,\u201d Kenneth White, a defense attorney familiar with the\u2063 federal law, told CNN. \u201cThe point \u2063is, it\u2019s used very\u200b aggressively there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Lake has contested the results of the 2020 \u200delection in court. She officially lost to Arizona Democrat Gov. \u200cKatie Hobbs in the race.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u200bMs. Lake insists that thousands of Republican voters got disenfranchised on \u2063Election \u2064Day. \u2063She has also expressed concerns about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/election-expert-finds-possible-flaw-in-signature-verification-process\/\" title=\"Election expert finds possible flaw in signature verification process\">signature verification process<\/a>\u200c of mail-in ballots.<\/p>\n<p>In July, Ms. Lake filed an appeal in\u2062 her election case \u200cat the Arizona Supreme Court, alleging that at least \u200b8,000 ballots were unreadable and not \u200d\u201cduplicated or counted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey want us to sit down, take \u200cit and shut\u2062 up. But that&#8217;s not gonna happen. They&#8217;re gonna have to lock each and every one of us up to stop us,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<h2>Republicans Who Question 2020 Election Results<\/h2>\n<p>As Ms. \u2062Lake suggested, using RICO to go after President Trump and his allies poses a significant \u200drisk to several Republicans who have expressed similar\u2063 concerns about the 2020 election results.<\/p>\n<p>This could become\u200c a\u2064 serious issue if President Trump were to end up losing the case and is found guilty.<\/p>\n<p>A November 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/republican-candidates-trump-2020-election-doubts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analysis<\/a> by \u200bCBS showed that out of the \u200c597 GOP candidates who ran for state or federal office in\u200c the midterms last year, 308 individuals raised\u200c doubts about the integrity of\u2063 the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) walks to his office after opening the House floor at the U.S. Capitol in\u2063 Washington on July 17, 2023. Twenty\u200d Republicans who ran for the Senate and\u2062 238 who ran for \u2064House are also\u200d included in the list.<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Kevin\u200b McCarthy (R-Calif.) was one of \u2063the 147 House Republicans who\u200b voted against President Biden\u2019s election victory in January 2021. Steve Scalise (R-La.) signed \u200ba U.S. Supreme Court amicus brief that attempted to secure\u200b a rejection of \u2062electoral votes from \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-more-votes-than-voters-in-key-swing-states\/\" title=\"Trump: More Votes Than Voters in Key Swing States\">key swing states<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Attorney General Ken \u200cPaxton led a lawsuit at\u200d the United States Supreme Court to dismiss the \u200delectoral college votes in Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and\u2063 Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p>Scott Perry (R-Pa.) sent \u2062a slate of electors to Washington in support of President Trump. Last year, the\u200b FBI seized his\u2062 phone\u2064 while \u200binvestigating the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/if-trump-cant-talk-about-corruption-then-were-doomed-as-a-country-kari-lake\/\" title=\"Kari Lake warns: No discussion on corruption by Trump means our nation's downfall.\">alleged fake elector scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Jake Hoffman (R-Ariz.) signed a slate of electors that \u2064claimed President Trump won the 2020 race in Arizona. On Jan.\u2062 5, 2021, Mr. Hoffman sent a letter\u2062 to Vice President \u2064Mike Pence, asking that he delay certifying the results of the state\u2019s election\u2063 results.<\/p>\n<p>Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen \u2064supported a lawsuit brought by Texas against four states which blamed election irregularities for Trump\u2019s defeat.<\/p>\n<h2>Trump Prison Time<\/h2>\n<p>The Georgia \u2063indictment charged President Trump with 13 counts, including violation of the state\u2019s RICO\u2064 act, conspiracy to commit forgery in\u2063 the first degree, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-court-website-posts-document-with-13-charges-against-trump-and-then-deletes-it\/\" title=\"Georgia court website briefly published a document listing 13 charges against Trump, which was later removed.\">filing false documents<\/a>, and solicitation\u200c of violation of oath by a public office among others.<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Former President Donald Trump\u200d at Trump \u2063National Golf Club in Bedminster, New \u200bJersey, on August 13,\u200b 2023. (Mike Stobe\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>If convicted and slapped with a maximum sentence on all 13 counts, President Trump will be looking at up to 76.5 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>If the three previous indictments in \u200cNew York, Miami, and Washington D.C. are also taken \u2062into consideration, the former president is facing\u200d up to 717.5 years in prison. The indictment\u200c in Washington D.C. can\u200b also come\u2063 with\u200c the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/dershowitz-slams-trump-georgia-indictment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a> \u2064 with Fox News, Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz slammed the Georgia indictment. Back in 2000, Mr.\u200c Dershowitz was the legal counsel of Al Gore who challenged the presidential election results that year, which had ended in\u200b a\u200c loss.<\/p>\n<p>The legal expert called President Trump\u2019s actions related to the 2020 elections \u201cvery\u200d similar\u201d to the strategy Al Gore used in\u200d the Bush v. Gore case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe challenged the election, and we did much of the things that are being done today and people praised us. I wrote a bestselling book called Supreme Injustice.
