This \u200clatest probe is part\u200d of the DOJ&#8217;s ongoing\u2062 antitrust \u200cinvestigation into Visa&#8217;s practices in the debit card market.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation is looking into whether Visa engages in anticompetitive\u200c practices. The company&#8217;s tokenization technology, \u2063introduced \u2063in 2014, replaces debit card\u2063 numbers\u2064 with \u2062tokens that can only\u200b be used \u2064on specific devices or with certain merchants.
