They concluded that the trigger of \u200cthe Colt .45 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/guns\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">revolver<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  \u200b must have been pulled \u201csufficiently\u201d\u200b enough to cause the accident. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Baldwin maintains that he never pulled the\u200b trigger, but the prop firearm was in his hand when Hutchins\u200d was shot\u2062 and killed. The Santa\u200c Fe County District Attorney\u2019s Office charged\u2062 Baldwin with \u200btwo counts \u2063of involuntary \u200cmanslaughter in January 2023.\u2062 The charges were dismissed without prejudice in April.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAlthough Alec Baldwin repeatedly\u200d denies pulling the trigger, given the\u2064 tests, \u2062findings and observations reported here, the trigger\u200c had to be \u200dpulled or depressed sufficiently to release the fully cocked\u200c or retracted hammer \u2064of the\u200d evidence revolver,\u201d the firearms report \u2062obtained\u200c by People <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/alec-baldwin-could-still-be-charged-over-rust-shooting-7643987\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">said<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. \u201cThis fatal incident was the consequence of the hammer being manually retracted to its fully \u2063rearward and cocked position \u2062followed, at some\u200b point, by the pull or rearward\u200d depression of the \u2064trigger.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The report noted that \u201cthe full-cock step on \u2064the hammer had been severely damaged,\u200c the top of the trigger\u2019s sear \u2063was broken off, and \u200dthe bolt (cylinder stop) was also broken\u201d due to the incident.\u2063 But even so, there was no indication of \u201cany modification to the gun.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Prosecutors previously stated in June that \u2062the \u201c30 Rock\u201d star could still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/witch-hunt-mueller-prosecutor-says-trump-could-face-charges-after-pardons\/\" title=\"WITCH HUNT: Mueller Prosecutor Says Trump Could Face Charges After Pardons\">face charges<\/a> in the future, the outlet \u200bnoted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe \u200cgun and broken sear have been sent to the state\u2019s independent\u200c expert\u200b for further testing. The charges \u2062against Alec Baldwin were dismissed without prejudice because a possible malfunction of\u2064 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/experts-find-alec-baldwin-did-pull-trigger-in-rust-shooting-could-still-face-charges\/\" title=\"Alec Baldwin found responsible for 'Rust' shooting, may face charges.\">gun significantly affects causation<\/a> with regard\u2062 to Baldwin, not \u2062with regard to Gutierrez. If it is determined \u200dthat the gun did not malfunction, charges against Mr. Baldwin will proceed,\u201d they wrote at the \u2062time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Baldwin has maintained since the incident occurred in 2021 that he did not pull the trigger and \u200dclaimed \u2063the firearm\u200d malfunctioned. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe trigger wasn\u2019t pulled,\u201d he said during\u200c an interview\u200c in\u2063 December\u200d 2021. \u201cI \u2064didn\u2019t pull the \u200ctrigger.
