putting its cars &#8220;in\u200b a position to compete with traditional ridehail, and \u200bchallenge an unsafe, inaccessible transportation status quo.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, several video \u200dposts on X, formerly known as \u2064Twitter, showed at\u200c least 10 Cruise vehicles \u200bfailing to blink their hazard lights in San Francisco&#8217;s North Beach\u200b neighborhood during a \u2062music festival.<\/p>\n<p>According to CNN, one\u2064 poster described the traffic incident in \u2064a tweet as a \u200b&#8221;complete meltdown.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Other eyewitnesses told CBS News affiliate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/sanfrancisco\/video\/cruise-has-meltdown-in-sfs-north-beach-day-after-driverless-cars-get-expansion-approval\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KPIX-TV<\/a> that driverless cars had blocked \u200cintersections on the\u2062 evening of Aug. 11 for about 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities\u200b were concerned that \u2062driverless cars\u200b would\u200d impede emergency vehicles from accessing the area.<\/p>\n<p>The incident came one day after \u200dthe CPUC voted for their approval, despite dissent from local officials.<\/p>\n<p>Cruise responded to critics by \u200bexplaining that the music festival &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/driverless-vehicles-are-still-having-problems-in-san-francisco\/\" title=\"Driverless vehicles in San Francisco continue to face issues.\">posed wireless bandwidth constraints causing delayed connectivity<\/a> to our vehicles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The GM affiliate promised that it\u200b was\u2062 &#8220;actively\u200b investigating and working on solutions to prevent \u200cthis \u2062from happening again,&#8221; and \u2064that they &#8220;apologize\u200c to \u200bthose who were impacted.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Attempts\u200b to Restrict Automated Cars<\/h2>\n<p>The\u200b San Francisco\u2063 Police Officers Association, San Francisco\u200c Deputy Sheriffs&#8217;
