Around 4 p.m. on August 12, more \u200cthan 30 suspects, donning hoodies and ski masks, \u2063some armed with \u2062knives, swarmed the store. Bruce Borihanh. &#8220;Maybe they&#8217;re the same [suspects], \u200bor maybe they&#8217;re not.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A viral\u2064 video capturing the Nordstrom \u200cburglary shows the group members frantically grabbing clothing, handbags, and other valuable items.\u2063 Investigators \u2062are meticulously reviewing surveillance footage in \u200bhopes of\u200d identifying the license plates of the getaway vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Borihanh,\u200c the entire incident lasted a mere two minutes. &#8220;They \u2062targeted handbags and high-end stuff they know they can sell,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width:600px\" class=\"alignnone\"><figcaption>Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Sgt. The Los Angeles Police Department will continue to work to not only find those responsible for \u2063this incident but to prevent these attacks on retailers from happening in the future.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;I&#8217;m \u200cHelpless&#8217;: Mall Security \u2062Guard<\/h2>\n<p>Kevin Johnson, a mall security guard who witnessed the \u200caftermath of the burglary, described the perpetrators as &#8220;hooligans.&#8221; He\u2064 lamented the \u2064regular occurrence of theft at the mall\u200b and expressed his \u200dexpectation of future incidents. In 2021, the store was burglarized the day before Thanksgiving by \u2062a group of five \u2064individuals who made\u2064 off with several expensive handbags. The security guard on duty during \u2062that incident was also sprayed with a chemical by the suspects.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200c LAPD is collaborating with \u200dthe Glendale \u2063Police Department to determine if the same suspects\u2062 were involved in the burglary that\u200d occurred in Glendale just four\u200b days prior. In that incident, over\u200d 30 suspects\u200d stormed \u200ba Yves \u200dSaint Laurent store at The Americana at Brand shopping center, stealing clothing and other merchandise valued at \u2064approximately\u2062 $300,000.<\/p>\n<p>Rick Caruso, the owner of the shopping center and former Los Angeles mayoral candidate, has\u2063 offered a reward of $50,000 for any information leading to the\u200c arrest and conviction\u200c of \u2062the suspects.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in\u200c Irvine,\u2064 California, police are on the lookout for three suspects involved in a jewelry store heist. The \u2062thieves were caught on store \u200cvideo breaking \u2064into display cases and making off with approximately $900,000 worth of jewelry.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Attorney\u2062 General \u200bAshley Moody has pointed to California&#8217;s crime policies as a contributing factor to these brazen thefts.\u2062 She emphasized that in Florida, organized retail theft is not tolerated, and \u200dthey are fighting back with force against such criminal\u2063 activities.<\/p>\n<p>The recent surge in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/flash-mob-daytime-burglaries-strike-southern-california-stores\/\" title=\"Southern California stores hit by daytime burglaries in 'flash-mob' style.\">flash mob-style retail crime<\/a> has drawn attention \u200bto Los Angeles County&#8217;s reinstatement of a zero-cash\u2063 bail system.\u200b While awaiting a final ruling in a\u200c lawsuit, the county has reverted to\u2064 a policy of requiring\u2064 no bail for suspects charged with most non-violent felonies\u2062 or misdemeanors. Local law enforcement has already observed an\u200c increase in \u200bproperty \u200ccrime as a result.<\/p>\n<p>LAPD Chief \u200cMichel Moore testified in the lawsuit, stating, &#8220;I do \u200bbelieve that\u2064 bail acts as a \u2064general deterrence. It creates consequences.
