Australia\u2019s\u200c S&#038;P\/ASX 200 index fell nearly \u20641.5%.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>China reported weaker than expected July activity data \u2062Tuesday, accompanied by news that Beijing would \u200dno <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/asia-stocks-fall-as-weak-china-data-weigh\/\" title=\"Asia stocks decline due to negative impact of weak China data.\">longer publish youth unemployment data<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The PBOC also unexpectedly lowered \u2064its policy rate \u2064on Tuesday, earlier than many investors had expected and possibly\u200d probably triggered by \u2064the string of disappointing data on loans\u2064 and \u2064credit, the \u200dhousing market and trust industry as well as the threat of \u200bdeflation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestors sentiment\u2062 toward China is pretty bad,\u201d said Redmond Wong, Greater China market\u200c strategist at Saxo Markets. <\/p>\n<p>Wong said he was most concerned about month-to-month decline\u200d of \u2062China\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disney-closing-60-bricks-and-mortar-stores\/\" title=\"Disney Closing 60 Bricks-And-Mortar Stores\">retail sales<\/a> and weak\u200d infrastructure investments, which suggested lack of funding from local governments.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s industrial output \u2063and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chinas-q2-gdp-growth-slows-to-0-8-q-q-raises-stimulus-expectations\/\" title=\"China's Q2 GDP growth decelerates to 0.8% q\/q, heightening stimulus hopes.\">retail sales \u200cgrowth<\/a> both slowed\u2063 from \u2062a month earlier to\u2062 a year-on-year pace of 3.7%\u200c and\u200b 2.5% respectively,\u2064 missing expectations.<\/p>\n<p>Hang Seng\u2062 Index and China\u2019s benchmark CSI300 Index opened 1.21 and 0.43% lower respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe think the Chinese \u200dCentral bank is not going hard enough on reducing interest rates,\u200c encouraging the banks \u2063to lend more and stimulate very \u2062flat consumer activity,\u201d said John Milroy,\u2062 \u2063 an\u2063 investment\u200d adviser at Ord\u200c Minnett.  <\/p>\n<p>The world\u2019s second largest economy\u2062 is \u200bdue \u2062to report \u2063new home price data for July\u2062 on Wedneday. <\/p>\n<p>Last\u200b month, prices \u2062fell by a very\u200b marginal 0.06%. If the decline begins\u2064 to accelerate,\u2064 it will feed back on \u2063weaker\u2063 consumer confidence and weigh on already \u200dfeeble retail sales \u200dgrowth.<\/p>\n<p>All three major\u200d U.S. equity indexes ended Tuesday\u2062 lower, after a stronger-than-expected report on\u2062 U.S. \u2064retail sales \u200cdata. The Dow Jones \u200cIndustrial Average fell 1.02%. The S&#038;P 500 dropped 1.16% and\u200d the \u2062Nasdaq Composite shed 1.14%\u2062 in value.<\/p>\n<p>The data increased the odds \u200dfor the Fed to \u200ckeep rates at high levels for longer and offered strength \u200bto\u2064 the greenback, pressing\u2064 on riskier currencies, typically \u200dthe Australian\u2063 dollar and \u200bthe New \u200cZealand dollar, said Tina\u2063 Teng, Markets\u200b Analyst, CMC Markets APAC &#038; Canada, in a Wednesday note.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFocus will be on the results as they land and any of the outlook commentary.
