Anthony Pro-Life ⁣America Takes a Stand

The anti-abortion organization Susan ⁣B. Anthony Pro-Life America is ramping up its ‍efforts to push Republican candidates to support a <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/house-republicans-in-at-risk-seats-taking-commonsense-approach-to-abortion/" title="House Republicans in vulnerable seats are adopting a "commonsense" stance on abortion.">federal 15-week abortion ban. In fact, they ⁣are even considering withholding their influential endorsement if candidates do not meet their standards.

Coming off a recent defeat in Ohio, where they blame weak Republicans and grassroots apprehension for their loss, the organization⁤ is determined to make their voice⁤ heard ahead of the first Republican ‌presidential primary debate.

Championing the Cause

“It’s possible that we would endorse a candidate, but ‌it’s also possible that we won’t,” says SBA president Marjorie Dannenfelser. She emphasizes the ⁤importance of candidates‌ communicating‍ their commitment to federal minimum standards and their plans to combat the “extremes of California, Illinois, and New York,” where abortion⁢ is supported “up ⁣to the end.”

SBA has already called out former President Donald Trump⁣ and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL)‌ for not meeting their standards. Dannenfelser explains that before the overturn of⁣ Roe v. Wade, Republican politicians could ⁣pay lip service to the cause without much consequence. However, now that Roe has been ‍overturned, their actions carry real weight.

Over the past 50 years, Americans have become accustomed to lenient abortion access, so it’s expected that there‌ will be trepidation and ‌short-term losses. However, Dannenfelser sees this as a turning point, a “pro-life spring of America.”

The Path to Victory

To achieve their goals, ⁢Dannenfelser believes that the Republican Party⁤ and its candidates must effectively message their position.⁣ They ⁤need to highlight the virtues of their stance and contrast it with the “extreme ⁣abortion up until the moment of birth” position⁢ of the Democrats.

She criticizes ⁤the “head ⁢in the ⁢sand” strategy of the 2022 ‌midterms and urges⁣ Republicans to‍ embrace contrast ‌and intensity. According to‌ Dannenfelser, when ‍these ⁢elements are engaged, the pro-life position will prevail.

SBA ⁤vice president for political affairs Billy Valentine adds that Republicans ‍need to “go on offense” by utilizing media ‌ad-buys and surrogate placements. This is crucial to ‌counter ⁤the‍ financial advantage of the pro-choice side, as seen in Ohio.

Valentine also emphasizes the need for a federal law ‌to‌ counteract statewide ballot initiatives. Republicans must focus their messaging on love ⁢and protection for ⁤the child, as⁣ well as loving service to the woman.

A Person, Not an Appendix

Candidates must continue to remind voters that the unborn are not ⁢disposable, but human beings deserving of protection. They need ⁣to convey the message ⁤that abortion is not simply removing an appendix, but ending a⁢ life.

Some skeptical Republicans argue against a national law, fearing it could‍ lead to Democrats ⁣using federal power to override state actions limiting abortion. Gov.⁣ Ron DeSantis expressed this ‍concern in a recent interview, ‌calling it an “abuse of power”⁣ and a violation of states’ rights.

However, Dannenfelser ⁣and Valentine point out that Democrats are already pushing for “abortion on demand up until birth” through ⁢the Women’s Health Protection Act. They stress the importance⁢ of not unilaterally disarming and leaving the field open⁢ for⁣ the opposition to enact laws that would dismantle pro-life protections.

Click ‌here to read more ⁢from The Washington Examiner.

The Susan B.
