Initially, his \u2063death was \u200battributed to\u2062 injuries sustained during the Capitol breach, but\u2062 the medical examiner&#8217;s office later determined that strokes were the cause.<\/p>\n<p>Sicknick, a\u2062 42-year-old Capitol Police officer who joined the department in\u2062 2008, was sprayed with a substance during the \u200devents of January 6, 2021. The medical examiner\u200d found that the \u200bstrokes were not a result of an allergic reaction to the spray \u200cand that there were\u2063 no other injuries related to\u200d the events of that day.
