He\u200c has worked for Justices\u200d David\u200b Nahmias and Keith Blackwell of the Georgia Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<div class=\"shortcode\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"lazyload-placeholder\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Before \u200dhis role as inspector general, the judge worked as the assistant U.S. attorney \u2063in the Northern District of Georgia and\u200c as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lunatic-georgia-da-investigating-trump-runs-into-issues\/\" title=\"Lunatic Georgia DA Investigating Trump Runs Into Issues\">senior assistant district attorney<\/a> in the \u2063Fulton County Atlanta Judicial Circuit, handling cases from fraud\u2064 to drug trafficking.<\/p>\n<h2>Previous Rulings<\/h2>\n<p>Judge McAfee\u2019s previous rulings could give an indication on how\u200b he\u2019ll approach the \u2062latest indictment charges.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump faces\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/us\/prosecuting-president-trump-will-set-bad-precedent-for-future-sen-lindsey-graham-5466286\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">13 counts in the \u200cindictment<\/a>, including conspiracy to \u2063commit \u2062forgery in the first degree; conspiracy to commit filing of false \u200cdocuments; solicitation of violation of\u200c oath by a public officer; and violation of \u200dthe state\u2019s Racketeer Influenced\u2063 and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.<\/p>\n<p>Judge McAfee \u2062fined pro-Trump\u200d attorney Lin Wood $5,000 in June for contempt of court for violating an order against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-oberlin-college-lawyer-responsible-for-the-gibson-bakery-debacle-is-now-at-cornell\/\" title=\"The Oberlin College Lawyer Responsible For The Gibson Bakery Debacle Is Now At Cornell\">making disparaging comments<\/a> about his former legal \u2064associates, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/judge-handle-trump-case\/story?id=102278055\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I can&#8217;t overlook the\u200b protracted and \u200bflagrant nature of the violation,&#8221; said Judge\u200c McAfee,\u200c threatening to fine Mr. Wood $15,000 for\u200c future violations.<\/p>\n<p>Judge McAfee \u2062will have to pick a\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/who-is-judge-scott-mcafee-assigned-to-oversee-the-georgia-trump-indictment\/\" title=\"Judge Scott McAfee is overseeing the Georgia Trump indictment.\">suitable court date making accommodations<\/a> for President Trump\u2019s already existing cases.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Willis said in \u2064a Monday press conference that a trial date will be\u2064 secured &#8220;within \u200dthe \u2062next six months.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>President Trump and the 18 other defendants have been given until noon \u2062on \u2062Aug. 25 to surrender themselves for processing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Trump and \u200dthe other Defendants charged in this Indictment refused\u200b to accept that \u200dTrump lost, and\u200b they knowingly\u2062 and \u200cwillfully joined a \u200cconspiracy to unlawfully\u2062 change the outcome of\u2064 the election\u2062 in favor of \u2063Trump. That conspiracy contained\u200b a common plan and purpose to commit two or more acts of racketeering activity in Fulton County, Georgia, elsewhere in the State of Georgia, \u2063and \u2064in other states,&#8221; the indictment says.<\/p>\n<p>The other individuals listed\u200b in the\u2063 indictment include Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Kenneth Chesebro,\u200d Jeffrey Clark, Jenna Ellis, Ray Smith \u200bIII, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer,\u2064 Shawn Tresher \u2063Still, Stephen Cliffgard Lee, \u2064Harrison Floyd, \u2062Trevian Kutti, Sidney Powell, Cathy Latham, Scott Hall, and Misty Hampton.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Willis claimed the charges were\u2063 not politically prejudiced.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI make decisions \u2062in this \u200doffice based on the facts in the\u200b law,\u201d she said. \u201cThe \u200dlaw is completely\u200b nonpartisan. That\u2019s how decisions are made in every case to date.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Trump Critical of Prosecutors<\/h2>\n<p>Speaking about his indictment in Washington over the events\u200d of Jan. 6, President Trump said it was impossible to get a fair \u2063trial in the liberal stronghold.<\/p>\n<p>It is \u201cIMPOSSIBLE to get a fair trial in Washington, D.C., which is\u200d over 95 percent anti-Trump, &#038; for which I have called for a Federal TAKEOVER in order to bring our Capital back to Greatness. This Indictment is all about Election Interference!!!\u201d he said in an Aug. \u200b3 Truth Social post.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to concerns about the trial being \u200dheld in Washington, Trump supporters \u2062are also worried about the judge who \u2063will preside over the case\u2014U.S. District\u200c Judge Tanya Chutkan, a former assistant \u200dpublic defender who was \u2064nominated by President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Chutkan also\u200d has dealt with cases involving Mr.\u200b Trump.
