It also allows the state to fine the site that \u2064breaks the law $250,000 per day.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the Texas \u200dlaw\u200b prohibits platforms\u200d with \u2063more than 50 million American\u200b users from viewpoint censorship.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200claws\u2062 were\u2063 implemented by\u2064 the two states after many Republicans have \u2064said that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/justice-thomas-suggests-section-230-may-be-unconstitutional\/\" title=\"Justice Thomas Suggests Section 230 May Be Unconstitutional\">major social media platforms<\/a> have a political \u2064agenda and that \u2064they have been\u200d discriminating against\u2062 right-wing users by censorship and quietly stifling \u2063their speech.<\/p>\n<p>Two federal appeals\u2063 courts have reached two opposing decisions regarding the laws. \u2062The U.S. Court of Appeals for\u200c the Fifth Circuit\u200b agreed and sided with Texas,\u2062 meanwhile \u2063the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals \u200cissued \u2062an injunction to\u200d block the law in\u2062 Florida from going into effect.<\/p>\n<p>The social media companies have claimed that without their editorial\u2062 capabilities, their websites would be filled with \u200bspam, bullying, extremism, and hate speech.<\/p>\n<p>If the Supreme Court agrees to \u2064hear the \u2063cases, \u2062its decision\u2063 would shape the future of how social media companies operate and what Americans are able to see on social media \u2062platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
