The San Jose Mercury News reported that Cloird receives a salary of $115,502 per year.<\/p>\n<p>Price&#8217;s decision to hire her boyfriend \u200bhas raised concerns of nepotism and violated California&#8217;s employment policies. Will Swaim, the\u2062 president of the California Policy Center, \u200dstated, &#8220;In a county overrun by criminals&#8230; it&#8217;s not entirely surprising\u2064 that the DA \u200dherself \u2062appears to be flouting the law.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Since becoming district attorney, Price has faced criticism for her handling of \u2064crime in Oakland, the county&#8217;s largest city.\u2064 She has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/virginia-ag-leads-effort-to-oust-far-left-das\/\" title=\"Virginia AG Leads Effort to Oust Far-Left DAs\">made controversial decisions<\/a>, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/soros-backed-district-attorney-hires-boyfriend-for-six-figure-position\/\" title=\"Soros-funded DA hires partner for high-paying job.\">making gang members eligible<\/a> for parole, reducing a triple murderer&#8217;s sentence,\u200c and giving a lenient sentence to a\u200d teen linked to three killings.<\/p>\n<p>Cloird&#8217;s past record has also \u2063come under scrutiny. He was involved in alleged \u200d&#8221;pay to \u2064play&#8221; arrangements in Richmond, California, where he sought money from businesses in exchange for expediting permits. The FBI investigated these allegations but did not charge\u200b him.<\/p>\n<p>Pamela Price&#8217;s spokesperson defended the\u200c hiring of\u200b Cloird, stating that he is a valued member of\u200c the team\u2062 with a distinguished record of work\u2062 in the Bay Area.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first instance of a Democratic politician \u2064hiring their partner using taxpayer or campaign funds. Rep.
