In legal pursuit of Donald Trump, \u200dshe\u2019s made herself look somehow crazier and <em>more<\/em> pathetic than any of his desperate attempts to \u201coverturn \u2063the results\u201d of\u2063 the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>I know that entire year is still\u200b a sore spot for\u2064 everyone, especially for us, the people who watched for months on end the state-sanctioned harassment\u200c of\u200b innocent pedestrians, the justification of violent riots (so\u2062 long as they were of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/31\/its-too-late-for-corrupt-media-to-decide-political-violence-is-bad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a \u2064particular persuasion<\/a>), and, most enraging, the fix of a national election through ballot rigging and intelligence community meddling. Of course, Trump was angry he lost. So was everyone who voted for him.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-713285410\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f1d566a1f7ea192f2552a34e9851cdb0 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f1d566a1f7ea192f2552a34e9851cdb0\"><\/div>\n<p>And he had \u2064every right to pursue\u2062 any \u200clegal avenue that\u200d might possibly correct an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-vice-president-pence-senate-majority-leader-mcconnell-and-house-minority-leader-mccarthy-wont-attend-president-trumps-goodbye-ceremony\/\" title=\"Republicans: Vice President Pence, Senate Majority Leader McConnell and House Minority Leader McCarthy, Won\u2019t Attend President Trump\u2019s Goodbye Ceremony\">invalid election result<\/a>. Unfortunately, he was wedded, and\u200d remains so, to the most unlikely\u2064 one \u2014\u00a0the hunt for hundreds of thousands of fraudulent ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Re-read the transcript of the January 2021 phone call \u2062between Trump, some of his staff and legal \u2062team,\u200d and Georgia\u2019s secretary\u200c of state. Or better yet, \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=VIJU3M-kKhI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">listen to it<\/a>. Trump sounds enraged to the point of tears each time \u200dhe\u2019s told that his numbers aren\u2019t born out by the data and that all\u2064 attempts to\u2064 validate his claims of mass fraud have turned out either vastly exaggerated or completely without merit. \u2063His \u200bresponse is to say he\u200d should have never\u200b endorsed \u2064the\u200b governor and call him a \u201cdisaster,\u201d who \u2062\u201cI can\u2019t imagine he\u2019s ever getting\u200d elected again.\u201d (Kemp won reelection in November\u2062 with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2022\/11\/08\/us\/elections\/results-georgia.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more \u2063than\u2064 53 percent<\/a> of the\u200c vote.)<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s \u2062a pitiful thing to witness, \u2062and if Democrats were a smart bunch, they \u200dwould have collectively said,\u200d \u201cOkay, that was\u2063 interesting. We\u2019re going to head out now. See you in four years. And \u2062could you \u200bbring this Trump guy \u2062back again?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But rather than take the win, Democrats\u2062 have instead decided to hang around, get drunk, and take\u2064 turns saying, \u201cWatch this!\u201d while doing belly flops \u200binto an empty pool. The latest is a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/15\/fulton-countys-bogus-trump-indictment-is-democrats-latest-attempt-to-criminalize-free-speech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">criminal indictment<\/a> of \u2063Trump and several \u200dothers from Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis, who unveiled the charges Monday with the cringiest late-night <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ul6BVALWAJs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press announcement<\/a>.\u200d She plodded through her prepared remarks at head-splitting volume, enunciating\u2063 every \u200bsyllable\u200c of every word as if she was speaking to an elderly,\u200c hard-of-hearing Chinese immigrant.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7a668365e713793f9804280a2c8e266e fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7a668365e713793f9804280a2c8e266e\"><\/div>\n<p>Willis said the charges relate to \u200dthe state\u2019s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute. To give you a sense of how surreal that is, Willis used the\u2064 same thing last year\u2064 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/05\/10\/1097800566\/rapper-young-thug-is-arrested-on-gang-related-charges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prosecute a gang<\/a> \u200d called \u201cYoung Slime Life,\u201d led by the appropriately named Young Thug, for multiple murders, carjackings, and \u200bshootings. By\u2063 contrast, \u200cTrump\u2019s \u201ccriminal enterprise,\u201d as Willis called it, involved a \u200dhissy fit phone call, requests for ballot information from\u2062 Georgia election officials (all denied except one by\u200b an\u2064 official who literally <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/08\/13\/politics\/coffee-county-georgia-voting-system-breach-trump\/index.html?utm_source=newsletter&#038;utm_medium=email&#038;utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosam&#038;stream=top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">invited the scrutiny<\/a>), and \u2062a\u200d long-shot \u2063effort that would ensure placement of alternate \u2063electors to\u200c cast votes \u200dfor Trump in the event that the initial electors \u2062were deemed legally\u2063 invalid.<\/p>\n<p>It may not be a murder, but it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tom-wopat-reveals-why-dukes-of-hazzard-was-a-blessing\/\" title=\"Tom Wopat Reveals Why \u201cDukes of Hazzard\u201d Was \u201cA Blessing\u201d\">pretty darn close<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Democrats like Willis will do literally anything \u200cto\u200b get some \u200bmedia\u2064 attention re-litigating 2020. If \u200dTrump had looked for fraudulent votes\u2064 at Chuck E. Cheese instead\u200c of Fulton County, some Democrat\u200c prosecutor would \u200chave <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trumps-georgia-indictment-shows-the-democrat-political-prosecutions-are-so-much-worse-than-the-supposed-crimes\/\" title=\"Trump's Georgia indictment reveals the severity of Democrat political prosecutions, surpassing the alleged crimes.\">poured countless arcade tokens<\/a> into getting the animatronics to say they \u2063had been pressured into \u2064overturning\u2064 the election.<\/p>\n<p>The former president\u2019s post-election \u200befforts spiraled into humiliating conduct. But to give up your \u200bdignity by insisting on something you\u2019re unable\u200c to prove is no more \u200dillegal \u200dthan an attempted cartwheel in public that\u200b ends with your\u200d pants coming off.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a96e817decb5e41921505703aebeae46 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a96e817decb5e41921505703aebeae46\"><\/div>\n<p>If\u2063 I\u2019m in a restaurant\u200b with a friend and \u2064I tell my companion to grab\u2062 the money left on a nearby table because it\u2019s actually mine, I might be \u2064lying to steal \u200dit, or I might actually believe it\u2019s mine for any\u200c number of \u2063reasons, including because maybe it really is mine. If I\u2019m lying and my friend knows I\u2019m lying and grabs\u2063 the money for \u2062me, we\u2019re both \u2064guilty of theft. But if my friend asks \u2062me\u2063 to prove the money is mine and I can\u2019t, so he refuses my request, and we drop the matter, perhaps\u200d that \u2064makes me a questionable character\u200d for making an unjustified claim \u2014\u00a0but did I commit a \u2062crime? Good luck not looking like a petty, wildly incompetent idiot\u200d pursuing that case.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s post-election behavior was unseemly enough for voters to ponder whether they\u2019d actually \u2062be \u200bcomfortable nominating him for president again.
