It was discovered in 2005 during an \u2062excavation conducted as part of the expansion of an Israeli \u2062prison.<\/p>\n<p>The mosaic\u2064 features Greek inscriptions, including an offering &#8220;To God Jesus Christ.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The prison is located at a historic crossroads near Tel Megiddo, overlooking the vast Jezreel\u200b Valley. Blessed is the\u200b one who stays awake,\u200c keeping\u2062 his\u2064 garments on, that he\u200d may not go about naked and be seen exposed!&#8221;) And they assembled \u200cthem at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Israel Antiquities Authority \u200c(IAA) will make a\u200c decision about the potential move of the mosaic \u200bin the coming weeks after consulting with an advisory body. \u200bThe IAA \u200cbelieves that relocating the mosaic is the \u200bbest way to protect it from the upcoming \u2064construction at the prison.<\/p>\n<p>While the Museum of the Bible eagerly awaits the\u200d decision, \u200cseveral \u200darchaeologists and academics have expressed strong objections to\u200c the idea of removing the Megiddo\u200d Mosaic from its original location.
