It\u2019s going to \u2064deter and \u2063chill people\u200d from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dershowitz-the-4th-trump-indictment-is-very-very-dangerous\/\" title=\"Dershowitz warns: 4th Trump indictment is perilous.\">challenging \u200clegitimate election results<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fultonclerk.org\/DocumentCenter\/View\/2077\/CRIMINAL-INDICTMENT\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">98-page indictment<\/a> claims Trump worked with his alleged \u200cco-conspirators to \u201cunlawfully \u2062change the outcome of the election in \u2063favor of Trump.\u201d\u200d <\/p>\n<p>But Dershowitz points out that it is not illegal to challenge \u200cthe results of elections. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cLet\u2019s remember, we have a process for challenging \u2063elections,\u201d Dershowitz said. \u201cIt involves\u200d alternate electors. It involves\u200b going \u200bto court. What\u2063 this \u200bindictment basically says\u2064 is if\u2062 you do \u200dthat, \u2064we\u2019re going to indict you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dershowitz even \u200blaid \u2062out\u200d the extensive history \u2064of challenging election\u2063 results in \u2063the U.S.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWhat you\u2019re \u200bsupposed to do \u2064is have an alternate slate of electors,\u201d\u2062 Dershowitz explained. \u201cYou\u2019re supposed to \u200dgo to the Secretary of State. You\u2019re supposed to file lawsuits. You\u2019re supposed to do all of these things.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s what\u200c happened \u200din 1800 with Thomas Jefferson \u200band Aaron Burris,\u201d \u2064Dershowitz continued. \u201cThat\u2019s what happened to Tilden \u200cHayes. It\u2019s what happened in 1960\u2062 in Hawaii \u2062with\u200c Kennedy. \u2064It\u2019s what happened in 2016 when Jamie Raskin went on the floor\u2064 of Congress and asked to do some of these same\u2064 things.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dershowitz says that the entire case, much like Special Counsel Jack Smith\u2019s Jan. 6 case, hinges\u200b on proving that Trump did\u2063 not believe the 2020 election was \u2064stolen. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe \u2063crux of\u2062 the indictment is that\u2063 the government is gonna have\u2063 to \u2062prove, prosecutors gonna\u2063 prove beyond reasonable doubt that Trump \u2063actually knew that the \u200belection was\u200b fair,\u2062 but he didn\u2019t know the election was\u200b fair.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cAnd it\u2019s his mind that\u2019s on trial,\u201d \u200dDershowitz continued. \u201cWe can dive in because it depends so much on the\u2064 prosecutor being able to get into Donald Trump\u2019s mind \u200cand prove his intent. Because if he thought the \u200delection was stolen\u200c from him, he did the right thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Dershowitz says\u200d following the rule of law is not the point of any of the four indictments Trump is facing. \u2062He claims they \u200dwere\u2063 designed \u200dto \u201cget a quick \u200bverdict.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWhat \u200c [the prosecutors are] looking for is verdicts from largely biased\u2062 jurors in largely biased areas, which have been overwhelmingly against Trump,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd then if they\u2019re reversed on\u2063 appeal, big deal, that \u2062will be after the election.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Friday, August 25<sup>th<\/sup> is the deadline for the 45<sup>th<\/sup> \u2064 president to turn himself \u2062in regarding this case.<\/p>\n<p>Stay\u2063 informed!
