Three \u200dfamily members, including Woods\u2019 17-year-old\u200c son, began walking along the road. A driver\u200d was \u2062reportedly \u201cunable to avoid\u201d hitting \u2063the 17-year-old son. Paramedics \u200dlater pronounced the teen dead at the \u2062scene.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ramaswamy-says-trump-was-excellent-but-america-first-doesnt-belong-to-him\/\" title=\"Ramaswamy praises Trump as 'excellent,' but discredits 'America First' as his own.\">good\u2062 person<\/a>. He was \u2063a real good\u200d person,\u201d the boy\u2019s brother <a href=\"https:\/\/abc11.com\/nc-dad-shoots-driver-son-killed-by-truck-person-county-deadly-shooting\/13647219\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> ABC11. \u201cWanted to be an\u200b IT technician. He was doing, he wanted to be positive in \u2062life. He \u2064wanted to help people.\u2062 He\u200d was a people person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u200d Person County \u200cSheriff\u2019s Office and the N.C. State Highway Patrol said the driver was reporting\u2064 the crash to a 911 operator when what sounded like two gunshots were heard. The line then went \u200cquiet. Sheriff Jason Wilborn\u200b told the outlet that Woods, the teen\u2019s father, had grabbed a handgun and shot the driver, killing him.<\/p>\n<p>Woods then reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/abc11.com\/nc-dad-shoots-driver-son-killed-by-truck-person-county-deadly-shooting\/13647219\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tossed the gun<\/a> into a pond, stole the man\u2019s Ram pickup truck, and \u2064drove himself home, leaving behind the driver and his dead son. The driver \u200bhas been identified as 39-year-old\u200b Jeffrey Leonard McKay of Youngsville, North Carolina, \u2063who worked as a maintenance worker for\u2064 North Carolina\u2019s\u2064 Department \u2062of Correction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is \u200ckind of a first,\u201d Morris told ABC11. \u201cI\u2019ve been to people struck\u200c by cars and \u200cI\u2019ve\u2064 been to shootings, but I haven\u2019t\u2062 ever had\u200d this happen at\u200b the same time. Sad situation all around, for all the families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Woods\u2019 \u2064father, Lawrence Clayborn, told ABC11 that\u2063 his son was distraught over seeing his\u2063 own son die.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was just out of it, going off and stuff. He was \u200cgoing, \u2018He just he killed my\u2064 son. He killed my son,&#8217;\u201d Clayborn said.<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Woods\u2062 was tracked\u200d down at his home after authorities identified the minor.
