And the \u2064Democrats know \u200bit.<\/p>\n<p>Just ask Bill Clinton what\u200b the \u200bmeaning of \u200c&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/slate.com\/news-and-politics\/1998\/09\/bill-clinton-and-the-meaning-of-is.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">is<\/a>&#8221; is.<\/p>\n<p>But in the case \u2063of former\u200c President Donald Trump, the entire\u200c party \u2063appears \u200dto have adopted a level of literalness that makes \u200dMr. Spock\u2063 look like Cliff Clavin.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, \u2062former President Donald \u200cTrump and 18 of his allies were \u200cindicted by\u2062 a Georgia \u200dgrand\u2062 jury \u200dof\u200b alleged \u2064efforts to overturn the 2020 elections.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">BREAKING: \u200cFulton \u2064County, Georgia DA Fani Willis reads\u2063 names of those indicted by Grand Jury\u2064 including President Trump and 18 others <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ldpzbIhDM2\">pic.twitter.com\/ldpzbIhDM2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Benny Johnson \u200d(@bennyjohnson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/1691296178795659264?\">August 15, \u200b2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Constitutional scholar <a href=\"https:\/\/themessenger.com\/opinion\/georgia-on-my-mind-a-fourth-trump-indictment-needs-something-other-than-the-call\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jonathan Turley<\/a> says a conviction\u2062 in Georgia \u2062would not be subject to \u200ca presidential pardon by \u200ba future Republican president (or Trump himself\u2064 should he win.)<\/p>\n<p>That power does not reach state convictions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2023\/08\/14\/1152841080\/trump-fulton-county-georgia-election-investigation-indictments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to NPR<\/a>, the\u200b 41-count \u2064indictment cited the controversial call\u200d with Georgia Republican \u200dSecretary of State \u200bBrad Raffensperger in which Trump allegedly\u2063 pushed him to &#8220;find&#8221; votes and\u200d reverse his loss in the state.<\/p>\n<p>Since the heart of the entire \u200ccase revolves \u2063around one line in a \u2062Jan. 2, 2021, audio call \u200bwith Raffensperger, it is important \u200bto go over what \u2062was said and, more importantly, \u2062the context in which\u200c it was said.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200c entire crux \u200cof any\u2063 potential indictment rests on one sentence spoken by Trump during \u200dthat call, &#8220;<strong>I just \u200dwant \u200cto\u200b find \u200b11,780 votes,\u200b which is one more than we have because we won the state.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have\u200c interpreted this statement as a blatant call for manufacturing votes, but a\u200d cursory reading of the entire script of that call seems to indicate the very opposite.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout \u200cthe \u2064call, Trump explicitly conveyed \u2064his belief in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/russell-brand-absolutely-torches-hillary-clinton-dems-hypocrisy-election-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">election fraud<\/a>, citing visual\u2062 evidence and other materials\u200d he \u2062said he had seen or been told about.<\/p>\n<p>Whether \u2063or \u200bnot these beliefs were substantiated is irrelevant. The only \u2062pertinent factor is the contextual backdrop against which these words were spoken.<\/p>\n<p>Was\u200d his intention to coerce the secretary into falsifying votes, \u200bas the Democrats \u2062contend, or was he genuinely convinced \u200cthat \u200cwell beyond 11,780 votes existed, and he was simply urging\u2062 the\u2064 secretary to unearth at least that many?<\/p>\n<p>The best\u200b way to judge context\u2064 is to look at the \u2064larger picture.<\/p>\n<p>So, here are some other \u200bstatements Trump made\u200c during the\u2064 call which could help put things in context, taken from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/01\/03\/politics\/trump-brad-raffensperger-phone-call-transcript\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transcript \u200dof \u2063the call<\/a> provided by CNN.<\/p>\n<h3>Quotes \u2062from the Call:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;I think \u2063it&#8217;s pretty\u2062 clear that we won. \u2062We won very substantially in Georgia. You even see it by rally \u2064size, frankly. We&#8217;d be getting 25-30,000 people\u200c a rally and \u200bthe\u200d competition would \u200bget less than \u2062100 \u200cpeople. And it never made \u200bsense,&#8221;\u2062 Trump said during\u200d the call, proving that he genuinely believed he would win.<\/li>\n<li>A little later in the call, Trump\u2064 talked about the mysterious ballots that dropped into the rolls\u2062 at the last minute in Fulton County. According \u200cto\u2063 him, at least 250,000 signatures \u200bwere unlikely to match.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;We have at least 2 or 3 \u2014 \u2063anywhere \u2064from 250-300,000 ballots \u2064were dropped \u2063mysteriously into the rolls. Much of \u200bthat had to do with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gateway-pundit-goes-offensive-sued-fulton-county-ga-2020-election-reporting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fulton County<\/a>,\u2063 which \u200chasn&#8217;t been checked.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;We think that if you \u2063check the signatures \u2014 a real check\u200b of the signatures going back in Fulton\u2062 County you&#8217;ll find at \u200cleast\u2064 a couple of hundred\u200b thousand\u200b of forged signatures of people who have been forged. And we are quite sure that&#8217;s going\u2062 to happen,&#8221; Trump said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Could it\u2062 not be possible that when Trump said he needed 11,780 votes, he was asking the secretary to go check these signatures and find at least 11,780\u2062 out of the 250,000 he believed were falsified \u200dfor now-President \u200bJoe Biden?<\/p>\n<p>Trump went on to list \u200cother inconsistencies his campaign \u2062had allegedly found.<\/p>\n<h3>More Quotes from the Call:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Thousands who went to \u2064the\u2064 voting place on November \u20633, were told they couldn&#8217;t vote, were told they couldn&#8217;t vote because a \u2063ballot had been put on their \u200cname.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;4,502 voters\u200c who \u2063voted but who \u2064weren&#8217;t on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-democrats-h-r-1-is-a-power-grab-would-undermine-states-election-rules\/\" title=\"Republicans: Democrats\u2019 H.R. 1 Is a Power Grab, Would Undermine States\u2019 Election Rules\">voter registration list<\/a>, \u2062so it&#8217;s 4,502 who voted but they weren&#8217;t on \u200cthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/michigan-removes-177000-voters-from-voter-rolls-after-legal-challenge\/\" title=\"Michigan Removes 177,000 Voters From Voter Rolls After Legal Challenge\">voter registration roll<\/a> which they had to be.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;You had 18,325 vacant address \u200dvoters.\u200b The address was vacant and they&#8217;re not allowed\u2062 to\u2063 be counted. \u2064That&#8217;s 18,325.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;You had\u200d 904 who only voted where they\u200d had just a P.O. \u2014 a post office box number \u200b\u2014 \u200cand\u2063 they had a post\u200c office box\u200b number and that&#8217;s \u2064not\u200b allowed.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;We had at least \u200b18,000 \u2014 that&#8217;s on tape we had them counted very painstakingly \u2014\u200b 18,000 \u200bvoters having to \u200bdo with [name]. She&#8217;s a\u200c vote scammer, a \u200dprofessional vote scammer and hustler.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;You had out-of-state \u200bvoters. They voted in Georgia but they \u200bwere from out of state, of 4,925.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;So <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bombshell-report-maricopa-official-resigns-election-audio-leak-dead-people-voted-bulls-county-audit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dead \u200bpeople \u2062voted<\/a> and I think the \u200dnumber is close to 5,000 \u200dpeople. And \u200cthey went to obituaries. They\u200b went to all sorts of methods to come\u200d up with\u200d an\u200b accurate number and a \u2062minimum is close to about 5,000 voters.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Ballots were dropped\u2064 in \u2062massive numbers,&#8221; the\u200b then-president said.\u200d &#8220;And we&#8217;re trying \u200bto get to those numbers, and we will have \u200dthem. They&#8217;ll take a period of time.\u200b Certified. \u2064But they&#8217;re massive numbers.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;And far \u200cgreater than the 11,779.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">There is speculation \u2062from the\u200b Trump team that \u2063a 4th indictment, this one from Georgia, could be\u2064 on the\u2064 way within a few\u200b weeks. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RogerJStoneJr?\">@RogerJStoneJr<\/a> \u2062 addresses the phone\u2062 call\u200d in question\u200d saying\u200d &#8220;this is \u2062another fabricated indictment &#8230; because Donald Trump is leading in the polls,&#8221;&#8230; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YgfGVhlc1W\">pic.twitter.com\/YgfGVhlc1W<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Stella Escobedo (@StellaEscoTV) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StellaEscoTV\/status\/1689020965890691075?\">August 8, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The \u200dbottom \u200bline is when \u2064you add it all up and \u2063then you start adding, \u2063you know, 300,000 fake\u200d ballots,&#8221; Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>A friend \u200cof mine was going through her very messy jewelry box \u200cthe\u200c other day, and\u2063 she said to me, &#8220;You\u2064 know, I have\u200d dozens of earrings for every \u200coccasion. But right \u2064now, all I want is \u200cto \u2064find a \u2063pair\u200c that match.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u200c believed \u200bthere were at least 300,000 fake ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Taken in\u2062 context, \u200dit\u200c doesn&#8217;t sound like he was\u2064 asking anyone to fabricate votes. He didn&#8217;t think he \u200bneeded to. He believed he had\u2064 them. Some Democratic lawyers after 2020 made their own \u200dcontroversial (and unsuccessful) allegations of machines flipping or altering election \u2062outcomes. No one \u2062suggested that they should be criminally charged \u200bor disbarred.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;However, another anemic filing like the one in New York will only fuel the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/multiple-secession-movements-gain-traction-in-u-s\/\" title=\"Multiple Secession Movements Gain Traction in U.S.\">deep political divisions<\/a> and unrest in the\u200d country.
