And I say this as somebody who is running in \u2062some polls\u200c third, in some polls second. It would be a lot easier for \u2064me if Donald Trump were not in this primary. But that\u200d is not how I want\u2063 to win this election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe way we do elections in the United States \u2063of \u2062America is that we the people, you all, get to decide \u2064who governs. And I \u2064stand not on the side of self-interest but on the side \u200cof \u200bprinciple.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The presidential hopeful also said that if he wins the \u20632024 race, he\u200d would consider Mr. Trump as \u200dan adviser. \u201cI think Trump was an excellent \u200cpresident.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think his defeat of Hillary Clinton in 2016 was an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-indictments-are-persecution-says-ramaswamy-as-clinton-assures-system-is-working\/\" title=\"Ramaswamy claims Trump indictments are 'persecution,' while Clinton assures 'system is functioning.'\">important political event<\/a> that stopped the leftward march through our government \u2063and our institutions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so I expect \u2062to take him as an adviser as well as I\u2019m actually taking to \u2064the next level our America first agenda, shutting down that administrative state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Ms. Clinton called the Trump indictments as proof of the American \u2063judicial system at work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe\u200b only satisfaction may be that \u200bthe system is working,\u201d she said in an interview with MSNBC\u2019s Rachel Maddow. \u200b\u201cThat all of the efforts by \u200dDonald Trump, his allies, and his enablers to try\u200d to silence the truth,\u2064 to try to undermine democracy have been brought into the light. After her loss to Donald Trump in 2016, she insisted that he was not a \u201clegitimate\u201d president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe irony of \u2063watching Rachel Maddow \u2064and \u2063Hillary Clinton scold people for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-did-marjorie-taylor-greene-say-people-are-dying-who-have-never-died-before\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Did Marjorie Taylor Greene Say, \u2018People Are Dying Who Have Never Died Before\u2019?\">spreading conspiracy theories<\/a> about stolen elections when they were the biggest Trump-Russian \u200bcollusion hoaxers after\u200b the 2016 election,\u201d Kevin Tober, a\u200d news analyst at\u200b NewsBusters, posted on social media on Aug. 15.<\/p>\n<h2>Violating President Trump\u2019s Rights<\/h2>\n<p>Mr. Trump and 18 other \u2063individuals were indicted in Georgia by a grand jury in Fulton County on Monday, alleging\u2064 that the former president attempted to overturn the results of the 2020 elections in\u200d the state.<\/p>\n<p>Fulton County had posted the indictment on\u2063 its \u2062website even before\u200c the grand jury had\u200c finished convening, which Mr. Ramaswamy called as \u201cdownright pathetic\u201d and a violation of\u2062 Mr.\u200b Trump\u2019s constitutional\u200b right to due process of law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cProsecutors should not be deciding\u200b U.S. presidential elections, and if they\u2019re so overzealous that they commit constitutional violations, then the cases should be thrown out &#038; they should be held accountable,\u201d he said \u200bin an Aug. 14 post on X (formerly Twitter).<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Mr. Ramaswamy filed a lawsuit against the \u200bDepartment of \u200dJustice (DoJ) \u2064in the district court of Columbia for allegedly failing to respond to his Freedom of\u200d Information Act (FOIA) request related to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-asks-supreme-court-to-reject-trump-request-in-fbi-classified-documents-case\/\" title=\"DOJ Asks Supreme Court to Reject Trump Request in FBI Classified Documents Case\">classified documents case<\/a> against President \u200cTrump.<\/p>\n<p>In an Aug. 2 post \u200con \u200bX, Mr. Ramaswamy had \u2062also committed to pardoning \u2063Mr. Trump following the third indictment against the former president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDonald Trump isn\u2019t the cause of what happened on Jan. 6. The real cause was\u200b systematic and pervasive censorship of citizens in the year leading up to it. If you tell people they can\u2019t speak, that\u2019s when they \u200cscream. If you tell \u2063people they can\u2019t scream, \u200dthat\u2019s when they tear\u200c things down,\u201d he\u2064 said.<\/p>\n<h2>Persecuting Trump<\/h2>\n<p>During \u2064an \u200dinterview with \u200bFox News, legal expert Alan Dershowitz said that the four indictments against \u200cMr. Trump are \u201cdesigned to get quick convictions in jurisdictions that are heavily\u2064 loaded against Donald Trump.\u201d The cases risk turning the United States into\u200d a \u201cbanana\u2064 republic,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you&#8217;re going \u200bafter the man running for president\u2062 against your person, you have to have \u200dthe strongest case. Otherwise, it becomes a banana republic. Anybody can prosecute anybody. And we&#8217;re opening the door to prosecution of Democrats by \u200bRepublicans, Republicans by Democrats,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s what Alexander Hamilton wrote in\u2064 The Federalist is the most dangerous threat to democracy, and we&#8217;re seeing it unfold in front of our eyes.
