We are trying to close that gap for both insulin and a broader set\u2064 of medications, and really unlock the value behind those \u2063savings for patients automatically.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Efforts to Lower Insulin Prices<\/h3>\n<p>Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and\u200b Sanofi, the three major players \u200ccontrolling 90% of the insulin market \u2063in the United States, have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fla-gov-desantis-announces-plan-to-work-with-publix-pharmacy-to-distribute-covid-19-vaccine\/\" title=\"Fla. Gov. DeSantis announces plan to work with Publix Pharmacy to distribute COVID-19 vaccine\">announced plans<\/a> \u200dto \u2063cut insulin prices by\u200c at least 70% by 2024. In \u200dthe meantime, they\u200b have issued more manufacturer coupons to help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-you-need-to-know-about-trumps-latest-drug-pricing-moves\/\" title=\"What You Need To Know About Trump\u2019s Latest Drug Pricing Moves\">lower prices<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, a report released\u200b by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) found that people without health insurance still \u2064pay an average of $98 per vial for Eli Lilly&#8217;s generic insulin \u200cproduct. Additionally, one-third of pharmacies charge more than $164 per vial, despite the company&#8217;s pledge\u200c to \u2063reduce the\u200b price to $25 per vial.<\/p>\n<h3>Government Initiatives and \u200cDiabetes Statistics<\/h3>\n<p>The Centers for Medicare \u2062and Medicaid Services have implemented the Inflation Reduction Act, which includes a\u2062 $35 cap on insulin monthly co-pays for\u2064 Medicare Part D patients \u2063and the elimination \u200dof deductibles for insulin.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Centers for\u200b Disease Control \u2063and Prevention, there\u2063 are approximately 37.3 million Americans with diabetes\u2064 and 96 \u200dmillion with pre-diabetes.\u200d The American Diabetes Association estimates that there are 8.4 million insulin-dependent diabetics in the \u200dU.S.<\/p>\n<h3>Positive\u2062 Response from the American Diabetes Association<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Access to affordable \u200ddiabetes medications and technology can help people\u2062 living with diabetes stay healthy and avoid complications,&#8221; said Charles Henderson, CEO of the ADA. &#8220;We applaud Amazon Pharmacy for innovating on behalf of people with diabetes and taking important action to help ensure they easily access the treatments they\u200d need through a transparent purchase process that\u200b automatically applies \u200bany eligible discounts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Amazon Pharmacy&#8217;s Competitive Moves<\/p>\n<p>Amazon has been making strategic\u200d moves to compete with \u2062major players in the pharmaceutical industry, such as CVS and Walgreens. In January, they launched a $5-a-month program for 50 generic\u200c medications used to treat over 80 chronic medical conditions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What [is Amazon] really good at?
