On Monday, a\u2063 Georgia grand \u200cjury indicted Giuliani and\u2063 18 others for their alleged efforts to overturn\u200b the 2020 presidential election in\u2063 the \u2064state. Trump himself was also named in the indictment and faces 13\u200d charges.<\/p>\n<p>This is\u200c not the first time Giuliani has been\u2063 implicated in a case\u200d against the former president. While he was not indicted, he \u200bwas identified as co-conspirator \u2063No. 1 \u200bin \u2063special counsel Jack Smith&#8217;s \u200dindictment of Trump earlier this month. The indictment accused Giuliani and others of attempting \u200dto overturn the election.<\/p>\n<h3>Violation \u200cof Georgia&#8217;s RICO Act<\/h3>\n<p>The \u206398-page indictment accuses Giuliani, Trump, and their associates of violating \u2063Georgia&#8217;s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt \u200dOrganizations Act, commonly known as\u2062 &#8220;RICO.&#8221; The document alleges that they conspired to \u2063conduct and \u200bparticipate \u2062in unlawful activities.<\/p>\n<p>According\u200b to the indictment, Giuliani \u2064played a role in encouraging Georgia officials to appoint &#8220;fake electors&#8221;\u2064 in violation\u200c of their oath of office. He is also accused \u200dof <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powell-is-an-american-legal-giant\/\" title=\"Sidney Powell Is an American Legal Giant\">making false statements<\/a> about\u200c voting irregularities in the state. Specifically, Giuliani claimed that 96,000 mail-in \u200bballots \u2063were \u2063counted in the election without any records of them\u200c being returned to the county elections office.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, Giuliani falsely accused Dominion Voting Systems machines of recording\u200b 6,000 votes for \u2063Joe Biden \u2063instead of Trump. This \u200cclaim\u200b was \u200cdebunked by \u200ca \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/donald-trump-indicted-how-rudy-giuliani-is-connected-to-former-presidents-indictment-cases\/\" title=\"Rudy Giuliani's connection to Donald Trump's indictment cases\">hand audit \u200bconducted<\/a> by the Michigan \u2063Secretary of State&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<h3>Co-Conspirator No. 1<\/h3>\n<p>In a previous\u200b indictment\u200d related to the election and the\u2063 Capitol riot, co-conspirator No. 1 was described as an attorney who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/co-conspirators-descriptions-released-in-trump-indictment\/\" title=\"Trump indictment reveals descriptions of co-conspirators.\">spread knowingly false claims<\/a> and\u2062 pursued strategies that Trump&#8217;s campaign attorneys would not. It is widely believed that Giuliani is\u200b this co-conspirator.<\/p>\n<p>Giuliani&#8217;s\u200b attorney, Robert Costello, acknowledged the \u2064likelihood that his\u2064 client is co-conspirator No. 1. He criticized the indictment,\u2064 stating that\u200d it attempts to criminalize Giuliani&#8217;s challenge \u2064of the 2020 election results and infringes on the First\u200b Amendment.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b indictment\u2063 also alleges that co-conspirator No. 1 played a significant role in convincing officials in Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin to act\u200d illegally. They are accused of organizing groups of fake electors to vote for Trump despite his loss.
