After the shooting, the child revealed to \u200ba \u2063reading specialist\u200d that he had obtained \u200bhis mother&#8217;s gun and proudly declared, &#8220;I shot that (expletive) dead.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Although the gun was found\u2063 in the child&#8217;s backpack, it remains unclear how he gained access to it. It remains unclear if Taylor will plead guilty \u200bto the same charges she was\u200b initially charged with in April.<\/p>\n<p>Under Virginia law, felony child neglect\u2064 carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, while the misdemeanor charge \u200dof firearm\u200b storage carries a\u2062 maximum sentence of one year\u2064 in jail.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with ABC&#8217;s &#8220;Good Morning America,&#8221; Taylor\u2063 expressed her remorse and took responsibility for \u200dher\u200c son&#8217;s actions.
