In her article, \u2062Marcus \u2064questioned the appropriateness \u200cof \u200bAlito&#8217;s\u2063 interviews and\u2063 opinion\u200b articles, calling them &#8220;part therapy couch,\u2064 part bullhorn.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;It\u2019s hard to hold \u2062yourself out as a\u2062 neutral umpire when you only \u200cplay \u200con welcoming fields.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, Marcus&#8217;s criticism seems hypocritical when compared to the actions of liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.\u200b Ginsburg frequently gave interviews \u200dto\u200c her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-defector-emails-pipeline-to-obama-admin-seen-as-currency\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Defector Emails: 'Pipeline' to Obama Admin Seen as 'Currency'\">close friend<\/a>, Nina Totenberg, who happens to be NPR&#8217;s \u2063Supreme Court correspondent. Totenberg even \u2062provided Ginsburg \u2063with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/morgan-stanley-requests-employees-fulfill-diversity-quota-in-job-application-process\/\" title=\"Morgan Stanley Requests Employees Fulfill \u2018Diversity\u2019 Quota In Job Application Process\">interview questions<\/a> in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Totenberg&#8217;s interviews\u200d with Ginsburg, which were often seen as conversations geared towards \u200dher fans, better fit the description of &#8220;part\u2063 therapy couch, part bullhorn.&#8221; Yet, Marcus \u2064seems unbothered by Ginsburg&#8217;s actions and even\u2064 provided a \u200bglowing blurb for Totenberg&#8217;s book.<\/p>\n<h3>Ethical Questions<\/h3>\n<p>While it is \u200dacceptable for public officials to\u200c have working relationships with reporters, Totenberg&#8217;s close\u200b friendship with \u200bGinsburg raises ethical concerns. Totenberg&#8217;s husband served as a medical \u2062adviser to \u200bGinsburg and even\u2063 supervised a biopsy that revealed\u200b cancerous tumors.<\/p>\n<p>Totenberg&#8217;s\u200b book \u2063also reveals other\u200c instances of\u200b their\u200d close\u200b friendship, such as \u200cGinsburg\u2063 planning Totenberg&#8217;s wedding and regularly\u200b inviting \u2062her to events. \u200cIt becomes apparent that\u200c Totenberg had insider\u2063 knowledge about Ginsburg&#8217;s health and\u2063 even had access to confidential exchanges among the justices.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, Marcus remains silent on these revelations \u2064and instead focuses\u200d her criticism on \u2062Alito&#8217;s defense of himself.
