Drops Bombshell: \u200bIt Was All a Lie<\/h2>\n<p>Turns out that one of\u2064 the\u2064 top-rated \u2064films\u2064 of 2009 may have twisted a \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">key fact<\/a> about the \u201ctrue story\u201d it\u2019s\u2062 based on \u2014 and it \u200cadds a whole new wrinkle to the film\u2019s legacy.<\/p>\n<p>Nominated for an Academy Award for\u2064 Best Picture that year, \u201cThe Blind\u200d Side\u201d told \u200da heartwarming tale\u2062 of \u200ba family adopting a young man\u2064 out of poverty and\u2064 helping\u200d him realize his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nfl-star-odell-beckham-jr-speaks-support-sound-freedom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NFL<\/a> dreams.<\/p>\n<p>In an explosive petition filed \u2062in Shelby County, Tennessee, retired\u200b NFL star Michael \u200cOher alleged\u2062 that his \u2062adoptive parents were neither adoptive nor \u2063parents.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/38190720\/blind-side-subject-michael-oher-alleges-adoption-was-lie-family-took-all-film-proceeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPN<\/a>, Oher, who was the subject\u2064 of \u201cThe Blind Side,\u201d claims that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy did not adopt him,\u2062 as the movie suggests.<\/p>\n<p>Rather,\u2062 Oher claimed\u2064 in his petition that he was \u201ctricked\u201d into signing a conservatorship with the Tuohys.<\/p>\n<p>That conservatorship purportedly gave \u200bthe Tuohys the right to make \u2063business \u200bdeals in his \u200cname.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore,\u200d Oher said that he hasn\u2019t seen a dime from \u201cThe \u200bBlind Side,\u201d while the Tuohys and\u200b their birth children have made millions from the \u200csmash-hit movie.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe lie of Michael\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/colin-kaepernick-digging-deeper-hole-just-said-white-adoptive-parents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">adoption<\/a> is\u2064 one upon which co-conservators Leigh \u200dAnne\u200d Tuohy and Sean Tuohy have enriched \u2064themselves at the\u2062 expense \u200bof their ward, the \u2063undersigned Michael Oher,\u201d the legal filing said, per \u200cESPN.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Leigh\u2063 Anne Touhy was portrayed \u200cby <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/sandra-bullocks-passionate-speech-adoptive-children-award-show-will-move-mountains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sandra \u2063Bullock<\/a> in \u201cThe Blind Side,\u201d while Sean Tuohy was portrayed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tim-mcgraw-gets-huge-ovation-phillies-fans-realize-whose-jersey-wearing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tim McGraw<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2063filing\u200b further alleged that Oher\u2063 made these discoveries \u2062just this year \u2014 perhaps explaining\u200d a bit why this seems to have abruptly \u200cbeen dredged up\u200b anew.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMichael Oher discovered this lie to his chagrin and embarrassment in February of 2023, when he learned\u2064 that the conservatorship to which he\u200c consented on the basis that doing\u2064 so would make him a \u200dmember of\u200b the Tuohy family, in fact provided\u2063 him no familial relationship with the \u200cTuohys,\u201d the filing stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The petition added: \u201cSince at least August of 2004, conservators have allowed Michael, specifically, and the public, generally, to believe that conservators adopted Michael and have used that untruth \u2062to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/michael-oher-from-blind-side-claims-tuohys-never-adopted-him-made-millions\/\" title=\"Michael Oher, of 'Blind Side' fame, says Tuohys never adopted him, earned millions.\">gain financial advantages<\/a> for themselves and the foundations\u2062 which they own or \u2062which they \u2064exercise control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The petition\u2064 primarily seems to be \u200dseeking some sort of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/iranian-president-vows-revenge-for-soleimani-unless-trump-and-pompeo-put-on-trial\/\" title=\"Iranian President Vows Revenge for Soleimani Unless Trump and Pompeo Put on Trial\">financial restitution<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Per ESPN\u2019s reporting,\u200d Oher\u200b is seeking to end\u2063 the \u200bTuohys\u2019 \u200cconservatorship. It\u2019s also seeking an injunction barring them\u2064 from\u200d ever using his name or likeness\u200d again.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the petition is seeking \u201ca full accounting of the money the Tuohys earned using Oher\u2019s\u200d name, and to \u200chave \u2063the\u2064 couple pay \u200bhim his fair\u200b share \u2062of profits, as well as unspecified\u200d compensatory and \u2063punitive damages.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The petition also noted, \u201cAll monies made in \u200bsaid manner should \u2063in all conscience and equity \u200dbe disgorged and paid over to \u200dthe\u2063 said\u200c ward, Michael Oher.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that nothing has been\u200b proven in court yet, and Oher\u2019s allegations are just that at the moment \u2014\u2062 allegations.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, \u200cit\u2019s still a\u2063 sobering development\u2063 for\u200d one of the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-nfl-player-immortalized-in-the-blind-side-drops-bombshell-it-was-all-a-lie\/\" title=\"Ex-NFL Star from 'The Blind Side' Reveals Shocking Truth: It Was a Complete Fabrication.\">feel-good sports stories<\/a>\u200c in\u2063 recent memory.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, it\u2019s perhaps\u200b not an entirely unexpected development.<\/p>\n<p>Back in 2015, Oher told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/13100161\/michael-oher-carolina-panthers-says-hit-movie-blind-side-hurt-career\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPN<\/a> that the film had actually \u2064had\u2062 a negative\u200c effect\u2063 on his career.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not trying to prove anything,\u201d Oher said then. \u201cPeople look at me, and they\u2063 take things away from me because of a \u200bmovie. \u200cThey \u2062don\u2019t really \u200bsee\u2064 the skills\u200c and the kind of player I am.
