This comes in response to the U.S. Supreme Court&#8217;s ban on affirmative action, which has raised concerns about diversity\u2064 and equal opportunities in higher education.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;This is a\u200b moment of great urgency in higher education,&#8221; Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona told \u2062reporters on Monday\u200c morning.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In a landmark ruling just before the Supreme\u2063 Court&#8217;s recess in June, it was determined \u200bthat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-exempts-military-academies-in-affirmative-action-ruling\/\" title=\"Supreme Court exempts military academies from affirmative action ruling.\">race-based admissions programs<\/a> at Harvard University and the\u200c University of North Carolina violated anti-discrimination laws. Fewer students of color applied, and fewer students of color were admitted.
