The study, published on\u200d Monday, reveals that the planet&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/earth-breaks-record-for-hottest-july-in-174-years-new-noaa-study-finds\/\" title=\"Hottest July in 174 years recorded on Earth, says new NOAA study.\">average global surface temperature<\/a> \u2062was \u200dapproximately 2 degrees Fahrenheit\u200d above \u200bthe 20th-century average, making \u2064it the warmest July\u2063 in NOAA&#8217;s record.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 study also highlights that July\u2064 2023 marked \u2064the 47th-consecutive\u200d July and the 533rd-consecutive month with temperatures above the 20th-century \u2064average. Furthermore,\u2064 it is virtually certain that the year 2023 \u200bwill rank among the five-warmest years on record, \u2064with\u2064 a nearly 50% probability of being the warmest on record.<\/p>\n<h3>Record-Breaking Climate Events<\/h3>\n<p>Not only did July 2023 \u200dset a record for\u2063 the hottest\u2063 month, but it also witnessed \u200cthe lowest\u2063 global July sea ice\u2064 extent coverage on record.
