They claim \u2064that \u2063the\u200d lab bears \u2063responsibility for the pandemic and the \u200cdeaths\u200d of their loved ones.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The families allege that \u2064the health alliance, which\u2064 previously received a U.S. grant for bat \u200cvirus research that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ecohealth-alliance-sued-by-families-of-covid-victims-who-allege-group-was-responsible-for-virus-release\/\" title=\"Families of COVID victims sue EcoHealth Alliance over alleged virus release.\">partly funded studies<\/a> at \u2062the Wuhan Institute\u2062 of Virology, is responsible for &#8220;either intentionally or accidentally&#8221; releasing COVID-19.\u200d The lawsuit, filed earlier \u2062this month at Manhattan Supreme Court, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/inventing-anna-subject-rachel-williams-sues-netflix-for-defamation\/\" title=\"\u2018Inventing Anna\u2019 Subject Rachel Williams Sues Netflix For Defamation\">seeks unspecified damages<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;If we\u200d had known the source or origin of\u2062 this virus and had not been misled that it was from a pangolin \u200din a wet market, and \u200crather we knew that it \u200dwas a genetically manipulated \u2064virus, and that the scientists involved were concealing that \u2063from our clients, \u200bthe outcome\u200b could have been very different,&#8221; said Patricia Finn, a lawyer\u2062 representing the\u200d families.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 lawsuit\u2064 also alleges that EcoHealth Alliance President\u200d Peter Daszak knew about the virus\u2063 being studied at\u2062 the Wuhan Institute\u2063 of Virology\u2062 and that the \u200borganization was aware of its potential to cause a worldwide pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[The families of the deceased] are definitely in mourning, but moreover they&#8217;re enraged because the truth of what really happened appears to be coming forward,&#8221; Finn \u2064added.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Mary Conroy, Emma D. Holley, Larry Carr, and Raul Osuna.<\/p>\n<h3>Controversy Surrounding EcoHealth Alliance<\/h3>\n<p>Daszak\u2064 and EcoHealth Alliance\u200d have \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-new-york-gov-andrew-cuomo-failed-to-account-for-4100-nursing-home-deaths\/\" title=\"Report: New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo Failed to Account for 4,100 Nursing Home Deaths\">faced increasing scrutiny<\/a>\u2062 over their \u200cconnections to the Wuhan \u2063Institute of Virology. Several government agencies believe\u200d that COVID-19 likely escaped from a lab\u200c in\u200b Wuhan.\u200b Daszak was part of the World Health Organization-China team that dismissed the lab leak \u200dhypothesis as &#8220;extremely unlikely.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The alliance collaborated with the Wuhan Institute of Virology on coronavirus research, supported by millions of dollars in grants from the\u200d National Institutes of \u2063Health. Last year, the group denied claims\u2064 by the NIH that it\u200b failed to\u2064 properly report \u200bits findings.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Andrew Huff, \u2064a former vice\u200b president of EcoHealth Alliance, believes that \u2064COVID-19 was genetically engineered \u2063and leaked from the Wuhan \u200dInstitute of Virology.\u200b He\u200c has \u2064attributed some \u200dof\u200d the\u200d blame\u200d to\u200c foreign groups \u200bworking in China.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;EcoHealth Alliance and foreign laboratories did not have the adequate control measures in place for \u2063ensuring\u2063 proper biosafety, biosecurity, and risk management, ultimately resulting in the lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology,&#8221; Huff wrote \u2064in a book published\u2064 earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Daniel Chaitin contributed to \u2062this report.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New York&#8217;s EcoHealth Alliance faces a lawsuit from four families who blame the lab for their loved ones&#8217; COVID-related deaths.
