Trump. From falsified indictments to\u200d non-existent supporting \u2062&#8217;evidence&#8217;, everything about the proceedings by\u2063 Smith have screamed \u2062desperate.\u200b America cannot and \u200cwill not stand for that, and it&#8217;s well past\u2064 time that \u2063Congress uses its power of the\u2063 purse to tell Jack\u2062 Smith:\u2063 you&#8217;re fired.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Smith has been the subject of Republican backlash, claiming he is a shill for President Joe Biden\u200d and the Democrats to ensure\u2062 that Trump is not elected president. Trump is leading the Republican primary in\u200c nearly all national \u200cpolls. Trump sits at 54.5%, and his next closest \u200bcompetitor is Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who sits at 14.8%, according to the \u2064RealClearPolitics polling average.<\/p>\n<p>The bill has\u2063 two other co-sponsors, Reps.\u200c Alex\u2063 Mooney (R-WV) and Eli Crane (R-AZ).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Biden&#8217;s Department of Justice is attempting to muzzle the voice of the American \u200bpeople and forcibly impose the Administration&#8217;s morally corrupt agenda onto this country,&#8221; Crane said in a statement. &#8220;The weaponization of the DOJ against the \u2063political enemies \u2062of \u200bthe Biden Crime \u2062Family, by way of left-wing puppet Jack\u2064 Smith, is contrary to our \u200dgoverning principles. It&#8217;s \u2062simple: patriotic\u200d American taxpayers\u2062 shouldn&#8217;t be funding the\u2063 salary of someone actively \u200bfighting to suppress their voices.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>House Republicans \u2063have decried Smith&#8217;s investigation \u2063into Trump\u200b and compared it \u2064to the &#8220;sweetheart&#8221; deal and fumbled investigation\u2063 into \u200dHunter Biden.
