This same agency has charged over 1,100 to date\u2063 for the Jan 6 disturbance in Washington DC.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Tom \u2064Fitton\u200b (@TomFitton) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TomFitton\/status\/1690935234265501696?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 14, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script type=\"text\/plain\" data-service=\"twitter\" data-category=\"marketing\" async data-cmplz-src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script> <\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>This statement came in \u2063the sentencing of Matthew Mazzocco, a J6 \u200ddefendant who pleaded guilty to one\u2063 misdemeanor count \u200dof \u201cParading, Demonstrating,\u2062 or Picketing in a Capitol Building.\u201d The Department of Justice recommended three months under home confinement and probation for Mazzocco, but Chutkan \u2064sentenced him to 45 \u200ddays in jail \u200cplus 60 hours of community service. This came after she noted that Mazzocco was barely in the Capitol\u200d and didn\u2019t cause harm to anyone\u2062 or anything.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cMr. Mazzocco\u200b was in the Capitol for only 12 minutes, and he did tell others, don\u2019t take or\u200c break anything, noting that they would probably get\u2062 in trouble for what they did,\u201d \u2063Chutkan wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Chutkan, in a sentencing hearing in October 2022, expressed anger that Trump is not behind bars.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI see the videotapes,\u201d Chutkan wrote. \u201cI see the footage\u200c of the flags and the signs that people were carrying\u200c and the hats they were \u200cwearing and the \u200cgarb. And\u200d the people who mobbed that Capitol were there in fealty, in loyalty, to one man \u2014 not to the Constitution, of which most of the people who come\u2062 before me seem woefully \u2063ignorant; \u2064not \u2063to \u2062the ideals \u2062of this country; and \u2062not to the principles of democracy. It\u2019s a blind loyalty\u200d to one person who, by the way, remains free to this\u200c day.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Trump highlighted this very statement\u2063 by Chutkan in a Truth\u200d Social post,\u200d saying, \u201c[Chutkan] obviously wants me\u200d behind bars.\u200b VERY\u200d BIASED &#038;\u200c UNFAIR!\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><\/figure>\n<p>Chutkan, in a hearing to settle\u2062 a dispute over a protective\u2062 order in Trump\u2019s case, repeatedly told \u200bJohn Lauro, Trump\u2019s\u200b attorney, that she would \u2062keep politics out \u2063of\u200d her courtroom. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI intend to keep politics \u200cout of it,\u201d she told Lauro. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Chutkan was also\u2064 the judge who refused to block the \u2064release of documents to the January\u2063 6<sup>th<\/sup> Committee.
