He emphasized that the appointment \u2063only focuses\u200b on the specific case brought before Weiss, rather than\u2063 all matters \u200brelated \u2062to\u2063 unpaid taxes.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe concern here, obviously, with Weiss being Special Counsel\u200d is that he was the one that \u200dallowed the\u200d statute limitations to expire on some very critical felony charges that could have been brought against Hunter Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Brennan \u2063inquired \u200dabout the reason behind Weiss&#8217;s decision \u200dto let the statute of limitations \u2063expire. Turner revealed that an IRS\u2063 whistleblower claimed it was interference from the Department of Justice. While Turner acknowledged that it may not be \u2063prosecutorial misconduct, he suggested it could be prosecutorial malpractice. He emphasized the\u200c significance of the expired statute\u200d of limitations, which allowed Hunter Biden to keep $125,000 in unpaid \u200ctaxes.<\/p>\n<p>Brennan\u2063 then raised the question of whether \u200dRepublicans were alleging a conspiracy behind the\u2064 expiration\u200b of \u2063the statute of limitations.
